How unpatriotic of you! I suppose you will want next that all rugs be openly displayed in public? And then give all those rugs a tax exception, followed by charitable donations and government funded infrastructure so they could build all-rug houses all over the world? It's bad enough they are spreading over the internet and getting support of shady websites like B&N already, but you want more? I will have you reported to every Counter-Rug Agencies I can find!!

The point is that they aren't having to dedicate floor space to it, buy in stock for all stores, etc... So it is a much lower-risk proposition for them to try.
Exactly!

Or BB&B, although in this case it might stand for Bed Bath & Books.

B&N can decide to sell whatever they want, but if it's available on Amazon I'll buy it there everytime and if it's not, I may wait until it is.

Better customer service and no tax.

Same here. Plus if you're a student and can provide a .edu email address for verification, it only costs $39 for Prime. You can renew for three years at that price.

I only found out through Facebook. Someone posted something that I happened to read and I jumped on it. It's $39 not $34.

Either which way, it's cheaper than what I pay.

Cool Of course....

Time for some commonsense into this thread ......

I've had a blinding realisation - B & N are much cleverer than we realized.

I think they've hit on a real money-maker, selling things on an industrial scale, to a niche market, that the likes of Amazon have allowed to pass by.
They'll be in on the ground floor- and thereby hangs the point, and I think they've let slip a clue that's perhaps more obvious to us Brits.

What they are going to be selling is not floor rugs - it's head rugs !
[This being the...vernacular term here for a wig, toupee, hairpiece, whatever. ]

Think of the profit margins they'll command.

"Rugs R B & N".... bespoke hair & ebooks.

Oh, I can see it now...........

I get stuff so quickly from Amazon with Free Super Saver shipping that I never saw the need for Prime. E.g., I ordered a DVD box set on October 20 (and that was a preorder that didn't ship till October 23!); it was at my post office on October 24. I ordered a handheld vacuum on October 26; it's already at my local UPS and will be on the truck Monday.

How much quicker can Prime possibly be?
