KindleVNC: A kindlet to view and control your remote PC desktop

I have Kindle 3G keyboard.
I installed this chess:

And it worked.
I installed Launchpad.


For all of this I chose the file with GB termination (Great Britain).
It was this only one file (gb) that worked and I tested the others.

There's something in Chinese and I do not know what to do next.

From post # 9 I downloaded the attached file and saved it in a folder.

I unzipped the archive from post # 9
I put these files in the root folder of my Kindle user disk using a USB cable.
On my Kindle, I select Menu > Settings, then Menu > Update Your Kindle.

But Update Your Kindle it remains frozen and can not be selected.

I will test initial this application for PC control.
Actually I intend to use it for my Android mobile phone control.

You must only put one of the files, the one for your model of Kindle, on the Kindle.

It would help if you would read the file named: readme.htm in that archive.
That is the number one, first step of anything you get from this forum: Read The Directions.

I put the update_ss_0.1_k3gb_install.bin file in the Kindle root folder

The same Menu > Settings, then Menu > Update Your Kindle it remains frozen.

I think this operation should be done after the program has been installed.

We do not distribute paid programs here.

VNC is a standard protocol, offered by many applications programs.

Do you have access to a web search program?
Something like Google?
search for "VNC server name_of_os_here"

Your top hits will probably include:

You should also google some descriptions of what VNC is and what it is used for.
That will give you some required background (like a start at what you are trying to do).

Plus, learning to use web search engines is almost a requirement these days.

Have you jail broken your Kindle?
If not, that would be one reason you have a grayed out UYK.

The other common reason, the package you are trying to install is not built for your model Kindle.
All packages in a file with the name format of update_*.bin are "model locked" to a specific model or models.

There are 3 such programs in this list.

The simplest solution would be to try another program.

Kindle VNC Viewer - nor does it work

eMonitor - Kindle as an Additional PC Screen - is the only one that works partially.
But on the screen the screen of kindle stays frozen. has no refresh.


The hardest thing would be to learn to write such a program.
