Only the first of the two stories is animated and only lasts about 16 minutes.
My sister and I have decided that we're going to wait until our vacation in three weeks before starting with HotD. I'm not sure if that was wise; we'll be spending the next three weeks avoiding spoilers. We're also saving The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power for our vacation. Last night I thought I would be starting with the third season of Locke & Key, but it turns out I only watch up until the first episode of season two, and I've mostly forgotten what that was about. So I'm having some catching up to do. |

For the first time in two and a half years I went to the cinema. I went to see Nope and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last movie I saw in the cinema was Richard Jewell, which was just before the shutdown in February 2020.
It was difficult to pick which movie I wanted to see, but I saw that Michael Wincott was in Nope, so that sealed the deal for me. He plays in so many 90s movies I like or love. However, in my mind he also plays one of the Paris vampires in Interview with a Vampire. But he doesn't. I was so certain I watched IwaV tonight to see if he might have been in an uncredited role, but he wasn't. He would have been a great vampire though. Of course, this also means I have to watch Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and The Three Musketeers again. |

I also didn't know that Michael Wincott had a brother, though looking at Jeff's credits I must have seen him in a lot of things. Today's the day I'm going to start pestering my sister for her movie list for our vacation; I don't want to watch something that she wanted us to watch together. |

We watched Chelsea Detective which was OK. Now we're halfway through a German show, 23 Cases, which has an interesting premise - a man is convicted after confessing to 23 murders. The detective later accidentally learns that he couldn't possibly have committed one of them. That case is reopened and the convict's aid is sought to solve it. Together they find connections to several other of the 23, casting doubt that the convict committed any of those and possibly others that he confessed to. What makes it interesting is that the convict doesn't want absolution, but can't resist the challenge to match wits with the police and with the other suspects who surface in the investigation.

In re: Chelsea Detective: it was okay. I mean, again, it was the sort of thing that I can watch without paying enormous attention. :-) It didn't annoy me, which is a good thing, lol. Hitch |

I'd have to rate Banshee as one of the better shows I've seen in the Amish-farmer-turned-crime-boss genre...

But what was amazing to me that I’d forgotten was how very much the actor who played Sydney looked like Rupert Brooke. Separated at birth level. And it surely was intentional, as one of Brooke’s most famous poems was The Old Vicarage, Grantchester. |
