Thanks for the link !
From the list

Volume 1: Elric of Melniboné
Elric of Melniboné
The Fortress of the Pearl
The Sailor on the Seas of Fate
The Weird of the White Wolf
Volume 2: Stormbringer
The Sleeping Sorceress
The Revenge of the Rose
The Bane of the Black Sword
Stormbringer
Volume 3: The White Wolf
The Dreamthief’s Daughter
The Skrayling Tree
The White Wolf’s Son
I am missing all of Volume 3 and "The weird of the White Wolf" (assuming it is not the same as the "The White Wolf's song"). Wow, it is really complicated!

Elric and Conan are both messy for the same reasons. The short stories were written and published out of (internal, chronological) order.

With Elric, in the 1970's, Acer/Daw published a six paperback series where Moorcock reorganized and reworked the stories to go in chronological order.
  1. Elric of Melniboné
  2. The Sailor on the Seas of Fate
  3. The Weird of the White Wolf
  4. The Vanishing Tower
  5. The Bane of the Black Sword
  6. Stormbringer
He then wrote further Elric tales.

Then in 2008, he decided to republish the stories as they were originally written and published, out of (internal) chronological order. Those titles are:
  1. The Stealer of Souls
  2. To Rescue Tanelorn
  3. The Sleeping Sorceress
  4. Duke Elric
  5. Elric in the Dream Realms
  6. Elric: Swords and Roses
And now, as Salty Horse said, they are being republished again. This time in the same internal chronological order as the original paperbacks, but with the new Elric stories incorporated into them.

The Wikipedia Elric page might help sort out your questions.

Incidentally, on the new Elric series, I wish they had used Robert Gould's art on all of them. That's Elric to me. The Michael Whelan Elric always seemed too muscular and typically heroic.

There's a quote from Moorcock in Whelan's WonderWorks collection acknowledging that Whelan had painted muscles as the marketplace demanded but that he'd captured his internal struggles and actually painted him as an albino, which several previous artists had not.

I'm partial to the Whelan depiction myself, Gould's style doesn't click with me.

Project Hail Mary is $6.99 at Amazon US. Not *that* great of a deal, but a fairly new release and the lowest it's been.

(Insert confused rant related to the whispersync upgrade making this either about $6.50 or $15.50 cheaper than the audible version alone, depending on if you subscribe to Audible Premium Plus here)

The price point makes me think this is the new price, rather than a temporary discount.

Perhaps, we'll see by the start of September or so.

But it's rather abrupt and also cheaper than The Martian or Artemis.

It's been pretty common for a year or more for recently published books to be at that price point or even higher as a daily deal and the price went back up afterward, though it has been non-fiction books that I have noticed.

I'd argue that a blockbuster-ish ebook around that point is near the long-term sweet spot once you've gotten $14.99 from all the people who really want it, especially if Amazon's cut is less for prices between $2.99 and $9.99 like I seem to remember
