Rewatching Game of Thrones - to prepare for House of the Dragon -- I'm a sucker for dragons ... and dire wolves
Diana Rigg was simply marvelous as Olenna Tyrell Also starting The Sandman -- read the graphic novels years ago - looks promising |

At this point, I'll try almost anything. (Barring slapstick or romancey stuff. Or...okay, so not really "anything.") Due to Mr. Hitch's tinnitus, a quiet house--in which, ideally, we would both just sit there and read--is not doable, sadly. So, we invest a silly amount of time trying to find shows that can run more-or-less in the background without driving us insane. :-) To add to the "Impossible Missions" list, also due to his hearing and the world's most expensive hearing aids, he also needs to be able to (mostly) understand the dialogue. (sigh). Yeah, that goes about as well as one can expect. Hitch |

(Carnival Row--man, there's a show for which I'd held high hopes and then it dissolved into the same old, same old tropes...with wings. SUCH a disappointment.) Hitch |

I enjoyed seeing one of Doctor Who's companions (Capaldi's "Claaahhhra") in the role of Constantine.

I don't think I've read this. In fact, I'm reasonably sure I haven't. I have to be in the right place, mentally, for Gaiman. Sometimes I love him, but sometimes I lose patience. I'm not really into graphic novels, generally (which this was, isn't that right?). So, I strongly suspect I missed this one somehow. Heard of it, oh, yes. But read it? Don't believe so and after Ep1, I'm pretty sure I'd have remembered by now if I had. Vis: Dr. Who/Capaldi: One of these days, I'll get around to that Doctor. I started with him way back--pre-Tom Baker days, when PBS had the re-broacast rights here in the States. When I was last routinely watching the Doctor, on then-satellite TV, things got bollixed up, on our then-available schedule--somehow, half of the story arc about River and her parents (no spoilers here!) were lost and never aired. I was increasingly frustrated and getting plot points from online correspondents was a bit annoying. Then, too, I was beginning to wonder if the next Doctor was going to be wearing a diaper, which was off-putting. (i.e., younger and younger and younger.) Having missed the end of the Amy Pond/Rory/River arc(s), I didn't want to try to get back into it, trying to figure out where the hell I was, before I made sure that I could get caught up entirely. (And yes, yes, I'm a horrible old bag, not that enthused about a female Doctor, either.) Hitch |

Episode 5 of Sandman was pretty rough for me. I could have done without the first half-hour or so.

Almost finished Series 8 of 'The Brokenwood Mysteries'. Low key series of muder mysteries set in the fictional town of Brokenwood, in New Zealand.
I class it as on a par with the John Nettles series of 'Midsomer Murders', not exactly mind blowing stuff, but a gentle amusing set of mysteries that run to an hour and a half each. Two hours when shown on terrestrial TV! A nice (but small) ensemble cast and well plotted little stories. |

I swear, if it wasn't for Mr. H's tinnitus, I'd turn the damned thing off forever. It's just...flipping hard to find anything remaining to watch. (I am looking forward, I HOPE, to trying Acorn's "Darby and Joan" and if it's awful, would somebody warn me?) Hitch |

Well it was the weekend!
![]() Finished season one. I enjoyed parts--and there was some great acting (which is mainly why I continued), but there was little love. It all felt just a bit too unhinged and/or disjointed for my tastes. |

Definitely give it a shot. It's visually gorgeous, but that's not usually enough for me.
