I and Mr. H are highly suspicious as to HOW Netflix adjudicates/calculates that "Top 10 TV shows" ranking system. And frankly, most of their other "favorite new" and all those.

Many of those just seem to make NO DAMNED SENSE.

(Currently rewatching Fringe on HBO Max, and Elementary on Hulu, as well as some old Sci-Fi Channel shows that are even stupider in repeats than they were originally, and brother, that is sayin' sumthin'.)

Season 2 of Reservation Dogs (FX on Hulu). This show cracks me up. I'm glad it's back.

Thanks to my streaming device, I am slowly working through the complete series of 'Taxi' and 'Bewitched' neither of which I have seen since their original broadcast (probably!). Just finished watching all of 'Soap' which was always a silly but firm favourite back then too!

Do you? I've been thinking about trying that. I'm not usually big on comedies, but hey, if you like it, I might take it out for a test drive.

Still watching NCIS. Up to Season 12 episode 3. Have a few movies to watch in the next week or two before they disappear off Netflix.

It's not entirely comedy. But a lot of it I find funny. Especially the wonky spirit guide. I've got a penchant for "quirk" and this fits that bill.

I'll check it out too. I have a few favorites that I'd rate as quirky-
Wonderfalls
Pushing Daisies
Detectorists
No Activity
Corner Gas
and of course Doc Martin

Forgot to mention there's some strong language, in case that's a turnoff. Love me some Corner Gas!

I remember Wonderfalls. One of those excellent shows that couldn’t find an audience.

Story of my (viewing) life. I tend to like what doesn't find enough audience to renew. I have friends & family who will specifically ask me NOT to watch a certain new show for fear I'll like it and get it cancelled.

I loved Doc Martin. I felt it struggled a bit, the last two seasons, but overall, yes, I liked it a lot. Fish outta water--what's not to like (which is also the theme of Death in Paradise, too, in addition to locked-room mysteries)?

Not for me. Served in the military and it takes a LOT to get me to turn something off.

Oh, hell...are we in the same house? My family members used to feel the same way. If I liked something, it was Dooooooooomed.

Funny. My family feels the same way about my choices in TV shows. The few I watch tend to have lifespan that make a mayfly look like Methuselah.

The worst was one show that broke to commercial in the middle of the 3rd episode and never came back.

The feeling of power!!!

Earlier this week I watched the Netflix documentary on Woodstock '99. I can remember it didn't go well, but that it was such a disaster I didn't remember. I had to laugh, one author I follow on Twitter, Mark Edwards, compared the two guys who went to the festival as teens with Beavis and Butthead. A spot on comparison IMHO.

Last night I started with The Sandman on Netflix. I've been looking forward to this series for a long time now. And it didn't disappoint. The casting is great and it seems that every detail is well thought out. I only read the first volume, the others were hard to get or too expensive. I expect there is/will be a rerelease of all volumes.

I wondered if that was based on Gaiman's book(s). Never read the books, but the first episode of the Netflix series was pretty good. A little too theatrical for my tastes, perhaps. But then that was always my opinion of Gaiman's writing in general. I always wanted to like his stuff more, but never quite could.

I love The Sandman. But his novels aren't for me, as with most of his TV series and films. With the exception of Stardust and Good Omens. And Lucifer, of course, but that's more inspired by as based on (they had planned for a Lucifer that was a lot meaner).
