I am sorry you received mixed messages from a store employee at Borders. Maybe it's because I am a Borders Rewards member - I dunno - but I have 60 days to return electronics items. It is even stated as such on their Web site.

Although I am not really a "first adopter" (well, my wife says I might be a border-line (pun intended) first adopter), I am not really miffed that within a week or two after receiving my Kobo, the Nook goes down in price. Then this week's Kindle3 announcements. If you wait until January, 2011, there will probably be thirty more models across the planet to choose from. And scores of "iPad" imitations, too.

Buy one now and enjoy it. I envy your Nook's easily-replaceable battery ... (grin)

I know what I just enjoyed right now about my nook, I just ordered The Girl with Dragon Tatoo and Ooohhh look at that, it's on my Nook in less than 30 seconds and I had to hook my nook up to nothing,

You fall into eReader Consumer Category 4: A little impulsive, and "I want it NOW!"

Me? When it comes to eReaders, I am in Category 16: Afraid I'd spend too much time screwing around with connectivity instead of reading some really great independent authors' works - which I quickly research and read reviews of on my laptop ... THEN make a purchasing decision. And have the eBooks all on my laptop, too, as I sync everything.

(grin)

Long live Kobo.

Well while here in the US I picked up a Nook. I only have 14 days to return it and I won't really have time to try it out before going home. Oh well, I really do like it, I only wish it was the weight of the kindle 3.
