So, anyone have any interesting ideas about what to do with the note-taking possibilities? I was thinking of making a PDF out of my to-do list, just for the fun of it, and that is aside from the fact that I love to mark up margins in books.

You all are going to hate me, but I walked in to my local BB in Fayetteville, AR tonight and purchased the only on they had. The website showed they didn't have any, but I have learned to still check the store. You might want to check your local stores.

No local store showed inventory when I ordered mine from Best Buy yesterday. Note two local Sony retail stores (Glendale & Costa Mesa CA) were also out of stock. They both said Sony was shipping more to them in 2-3 days. We'll see about my Best Buy shipping.

Well,

I am writing this from the air on one of the AA flights that have wifi. BB and UPS are still saying that mine will arrive tomorrow, which creeps at its petty pace. Sadly, I will be in DC when it arrives and won't get to play with it until Wednesday. My 600 seems to be getting me by for this flight.

Best Buy e-mailed me a tracking number today, linking to a UPS tracking #, but UPS doesn't recognize it. I assume that means they reserved the number in their shipping but it hasn't hit the UPS truck yet. Not bad for a late afternoon order Sunday. Yay!

I saw one on the shelf at a local best buy this weekend in the washington dc area. Was only one they had, sealed retail unit with no demo unit available. Wife was with me or I probably would have snagged it up and brought it home...

So they are indeed starting to creep out into the wild.

UPS tracking said it shipped out from Fresno yesterday and should arrive today! Fresno? Oh ... can't wait!

Finally, UPS dropped my 900 off this afternoon!

Been playing with the 900 for three hours now. This reader is truely something I really like!

I can see this is going to my favorite reader... My 600 will most likely end up being sold off. Any takers?

Picked mine up at a BB in the Pittsburgh area last evening. Is the hard case supposed to come with the instore purchase? The BB I where I picked mine up said no.

Hmmm...how much was it selling for? If it was $399.99 then certainly the hard case is included. The way the packaging is that I received from SonyStyle.com is one big Sony Reader Daily Edition box or kit (PRS-900BCKIT) and inside that box are the actual Reader (in its own box) and the hard case.

If you paid less than the full price it sounds like Best Buy is receiving the kits from Sony and removing the Reader and the hard case. Perhaps to sell them separately? Also, according to the Best Buy website, the hard/travel case is included.

It's a wonderful unit. I'm glad my 600 had dust in it, otherwise I would not have returned it for a replacement. While waiting for the replacement I visited a local Sony Style store. I was sold when I saw the 900.
