Hi!

I have the Sony PRS-505 and the PRS-700. The PRS-505 has been my first ebook-Reader and I LOVE the screen! Whenever I'm reading just for fun I use the PRS-505.

But sometimes I also have to work with books and then I urgently need the function to make annotations. Therefore I also bought the PRS-700. I like the easy way to turn pages, the very good, fast and solid system and the function to search for words, make annotations etc. But I dislike the screen (compared to the PRS-505 and I hate the awful light; without it I cannot read with the PRS-700 due to the bad screen; with the built-in lights the battery is empty in no time).

So I use both of them. And while my PRS-505 hangs up from time to time and needed to be replaced twice already, I'm happy to have the PRS-700 as alternative.

Greetings,
Momo

Okay, for those of you that have 2 or more, do you carry them both around every day? Why? Do you not find that too bulky? What if you take one with you, then decide you want to read a book on the other one? Do you buy the same book for both eReaders? Or do you buy a book in one format, and do that illegal thing to it that we aren't allowed to talk about?

For my daily commute, I carry both. I park my car at a train station and ride the train to work because I work downtown and live in the suburbs. I carry a big train bag, so I'm able to put a Belkin bag that house both my Kindle & PRS-505 with their covers inside that bag. When I'm going somewhere overnight or longer, I take both. If I'm going somewhere for a few hours then I choose which one to take.

I have a Kindle1 that I replaced my Sony 500 with. I still have the Sony but I don't use it... nor will my wife to my chagrin. My son used to use it, but now he prefers his iPod Touch.

I only have the 505, though I would love a second reader, possibly a Kindle, which would be possible as I have family in the States which would make it easier. But, quite frankly, I don't really need a second reader.

I've got an eBookwise-1150 and the Sony 505. I primarily use the eBookwise for reading in low-lit areas. I've thought about getting the LightWedge for the Sony but I just can't justify the expense while I still have the eBookwise. But I do most of my reading on the Sony. If I'm going somewhere, I usually take the eBookwise with me because I haven't bought a reliable case for the Sony yet. (It's on my to-do list.)

I don't buy books that are tied to either device anymore. I always buy books that I can convert and then put them on both readers. (Space permitting on the eBookwise.)

Knowing myself, if I had two, I'd always take both with me And I most certainly will de-drm any book that won't fit on both readers!

I have a PRS-500, my iPod Touch, and an Ebookwise 1150. I'm about to upgrade the 500, most likely with the 505, as I can get the $100 upgrade discount from Sony. I would like a device that I can take notes on, but figure it would be better if I do that on one with a larger screen, since it would mostly be for tech books.

If Sony comes out with a larger screen device with annotation ability, I would go for it, but would keep the smaller device, as well. The challenge would be the convenience of getting tech books on the Kindle DX through Amazon's store. I wanted to rule out the Kindle, but that's an advantage that I just can't ignore.

I only use my iPod touch as a reader when my 500 isn't with me - which is rare. And, that poor 1150 hasn't been touched in almost 2 years, so once I'm sure it still works, I'll probably sell it. Having it just sit there makes me feel guilty.

I carry the Sony 505 and my iTouch with me. The Sony not quite as bulky as the Kindle 1. I read the topaz formatted books on either the Kindle, or on my iTouch.

I don't necessarily know that it's forbidden to say that you de-drm books, it's just forbidden to tell people in the public forum how to de-drm books.

As of next week, I should have two e-readers. I already have an iLiad V2 and I just ordered a Sony 505 (blue).

I have a Palm TX and an iPhone....I also read on them sometimes. Actually, I used to read eReader format on my Palm IIIx, then Vx, etc... I only got my first dedicated e-reader earlier this year though.

Hi

Concerning the question of taking both with me…
No, the Cybook (main reader as I say above) goes everywhere with me - one reads when one has the reader with him (her)!
…and the Sony just (but really just) goes with me when it’s really necessary.

Best regards,

I have a Kindle 1 and an Iliad. I received the Kindle 1 for Christmas 2008, and I love it. But I bought the Iliad for the bigger screen. I use the Iliad more than I use the Kindle because of the bigger screen.

I have a prs 505 and a 700. I origionally had the 505, but after beginning an online college course I wanted something I could annotate. I also purchased it because of the light. A clip on causes too much of a glare for me. I primarily use my 505. I like the clarity of the text, I like the way books load on it, and the formats it supports. I keep my books I am reading on an SD card and when I wish to use my 700 I easily transfer the card. The side elumination is sufficient for me. I am getting a jetbook, because I want to try it out. I like the fact that it is a smaller size and it supports mobipocket. I am concerned that it does not support drm books, however I understand that jetbook has regular firmware updates, and hope it will be including drm support. In the mean time, I do enjoy such authors as Edgar Rice Burroughs, Jules Verne, Arthur Conan Doyle, Robert Howard, and Frank L. Baum.
