Not without a valid US address...

You would have to set up a completely different account with your Kindle app linked to it, and use gift cards to fund your purchases. I've looked into it, and it seems to be unnecessarily involved to keep your US and UK accounts in different silos. There's also the matter of inputting an address.

It's annoying since I've been buying from Amazon since before the geo-restrictions came in. It seems to be easier on Kobo, but even if I switch my country from the drop-down, it still won't let me buy US-only books. I suspect it's because I have a UK-registered debit card as payment method, so again I would need a second account using gift cards.

Seriously, it comes across as a restriction of trade. I appreciate that digital rights are separate to print rights, but there should be a mechanism to allow digital purchases from countries where there are no digital rights holders.

Or an Irish Address. Irish Kindle users were locked to Amazon UK marketplace, but now can swap to USA. But it swaps ALL their Kindles and Kindle Apps.

You can set up a kindle with no address using a gift card bought on the USA Market place (doesn't work for other marketplaces and the buyer can have any home marketplace). You enter the email address the gift card was sent to and it assumes you are in the USA. The email address can't be associated with a current Amazon account.

Amazon Germany needs German, Swiss or Austrian address for Kindle, but many destinations other than these can buy paper books and most products that are not Kindle or Audible.

Sadly many things, not just ebooks are georestricted. Sometimes it's rights (paper books) and sometimes it's USA divide and conquer marketing, where they even charge different ex VAT Euro prices across the EU. The EU is trying to stamp out this exploitive behaviour, but very slowly. With Brexit, people from UK with UK accounts have lost streaming content when in EU countries.

Video, games, clothes are all geo-priced and both Levi and Burbury have blocked with winning court cases against imports they didn't approve. Not smuggled or counterfeit. That's obscene.

Transworld Publishers which is a division of Penguin Random House in the UK published these eBooks. I do have them from Transworld.

I do think this is ridiculous. It will lead to piracy.
It could be that they don't see other platforms as worth the effort, Amazon is still estimated to have close to 90% of the eBook market share in the US.

Just as aside, Ringworld is available on the Apple bookstore as are the Belgariad and the rest of Eddings books. It's listed as a different publisher than Amazon, so it might not be legit, but I can't say that bothers me a lot.

I just had a look and Apple is selling The Belgariad eBooks as a set published by William Books Publishing. Plus William Books Publishing is also selling a four book set of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. I don't see this as legit.

I've only found William Books Publishing on Apple. I cannot find a website or any other site that gives any information about them.

As for Spectrum not making ePub, that's wrong because obviously they do since they are selling at Apple and B&N.

William Morrow is not the same. If it was, I would be able to search for David Eddings. I think William Books Publishing is bogus because they are not the rights holder for The Belgariad series. Spectrum Literary Agency, Inc. holds the rights to The Belgariad series.

In some cases, the eBook is not available in that country but the audiobook is.

fwiw, Ringworld is also available from Barnes & Noble...which I realize may not be a popular choice.
