I would agree. I have a iPhone 7 which is 4.7" diagonal and I use it for reading sometimes (I also have an iPad). This morning I hooked it to my 47" TV screen via an HDMI adapter and if was just fine at covering the full screen.

I want a 47" screen eReader (Eink with colours of course), may be not so portable but it would a great purchase.

Better be sure to get a case/cover for your new 47" reader so it won't get damaged when you take it out and about

Is there even a benefit to eInk on something so ridiculously not portable, given that it'd almost certainly always be near an electrical outlet?

I think this original 47" reader post was written facetiously, hence the smiling emoticon.

But, on a more serious note:

The power requirements for e-ink is lower, so it might be a good power saving. And it might be good as a display outdoors or somewhere with a lot of glare.

As I recall, our resident worrier about readers breaking in pockets mentioned the possibility of someone bumping into you with the device in your pocket. I figure with the 47-inch device people would easily see you coming and get out of the way

This forum has a "Market" section where I once got a second-hand Kobo Mini. Very happy about it.

The problem with the TV I have is there's currently no easy way to rotate it so it's in portrait instead of landscape. If I could easily rotate the TV in portrait, I could have a 55" 4K Reader.

I think a 2 column horizontal screen is much better and you can still have a 55" reader.

He could just rotate the image and lie down to do his reading.

And I'm sure I have seen some wall mounts that allow it. Though the ones I've seen have probably been for smaller TVs.

Physically it can be done. And software wise it can be done. I just tried it with Windows 10 (not the physical part).
