Firmware can be downloaded from the support site. The update procedure is described in the manuals that you find there, too.
That paging issue is the only bug bothering me currently. The advantages of the new firmware outweigh that in my opinion so I stick with it and wait for the bug fix. |

Hi everyone,
I'm located in France and just updated to the new software version, and I can't even see bugs because I can't get past the sign in page... I don't have an account with the store I bought the ereader at. I never had to sign in before, but it now seems to be a requirement? What happened: - I launched the update - Inkpad 3 updated and restarted - at restart I was prompted to select my wifi - then prompted to sign in to my Cultura account (kind of like Barnes & Noble, but in France) - I don't have an account and do not want to create one - I can't press any button to get out of this sign-in screen. The upper bar doesn't take me anywhere either. I have tried a restart, but I get the same thing --> does anybody know if they somehow now require the use of a bookstore account to use the inkpad?! That seems ridiculous. I got this ebook because it is supposed to be independent from any corporation... Any help would be great ![]() |

What 'new software version' are you trying to install? When you install an official PocketBook software version there is always the option to skip this sign in screen.

Looks like some localized firmware, not PB official.

You must be right. This is such a bother!!!
So I can't fully boot my Inkpad if I can't get past this screen; I can't access it from my laptop because it's not recognized until it's fully booted, so I can't reinstall a previous software manually; and I can't seem to do a hard reset either... Any ideas? ![]() |

I don't own an Inkpad 3, but I've seen threads here not long ago about successfully replacing custom firmware with stock PB firmware.

Just create a dummy account. If you need to link it to a mail address also create a temporary gmail address that you are never going to use again. Once your reader is up and running try to install the official PB firmware (download on your laptop and copy to your reader). If that does not work then look for the thread that eMole refers to.

![]() I just checked on PB official support page, there's only the buggy 6.0 version and the 5.19 available. For the record, PB in France is sold under the brand Vivlio with a cutsom firmware based on the original PB one. It is possible to put the original PB one if the user prefers it. |

The current 6.0 version for the Touch HD3 on the PocketBook site is better than the original 6.0 release, but still some bugs were found that may or may not impact you, depending on how you use your device. (e.g., I don't notice any issues at all, but some people do.) A new and improved version is in beta test now and will be released soon. (I think they mentioned a date, but that does not mean much with PocketBook - they release stuff when they think it is ready.)

Currently using the Vivlio firmware and thinking about switching to the PB one but I prefer to wait until all bugs are ironed out.
