yes, because taking a dislike to the wrong blurb is clearly a punishable offense!

Yes. I know what it means.

It was the juxtaposition of 'autobiography of a horse' and 'human-read' that made me smile at first glance.

I thought it was a joke, playing on the idea that it should have been "horse-read". I don't listen to audiobooks, so I didn't know that "human-read" was actually a thing.

Here you go, blurb luvvvers:

http://business.time.com/2012/12/20/...-here-to-stay/

Back in the early 1980s (I think it was), in a fanzine (fantasy or sci-fi - and aren't they all the same...really....when you think about it? Try thinking about it), I read a fictitious review of a new Stephen King book that was ONLY reviews. Of course, it was all made up (you know: fantasy or Sci-Fi - but it's all the same thing. Right?) and very, very funny. At that time, Stephen King plugs, blurbs, and blubbers were all over the place. I wish I had that fictitious review of that non-existent book. Does anyone have a link?

You couldn't open one indecent horror novel without encountering a Stephen King blurb.

How many have heard this, or a variant thereof:

A book so scary, I couldn't let go. (Excised from the rest of that imaginary quote is this: Even when I went to the bathroom, that damned book was still in the hand I use. Now, the real horror begins!)

I like this book blurb. .

From the moment I picked up your book until I put it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

One can easily imagine this blurb, or a variant thereof, on any particular book which strikes your fancy. . .( I'm thinking of a certain book by Al Gore.)

I've heard this one, too, and it's GREAT!

This one applies to many indy ebooks, with horrible editing and laughable prose, and that oh-so-characteristically, put-downable quality that causes rumbles of belly laughs and guffaws of wonderment, along with tortured syntactical language elements.
