Hi,
Sorry for not replying... I used step by step here: http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/201...hite-no-hacks/ If you have only 1 font (regular one, but not italic, bold, underline), then you can just copy that font and rename it to italic, bold and underline. FYI, I just received Oasis and updated to the latest 5.8.7 and still able to use this method. Thanks. |

I used arabic fonts. There are few, and all of them are worked quite good. It only have 1 regular font, so I have <name>-Bold.otf, <name>-BoldItalic.otf, <name>-Italic.otf, <Name>-Regular.otf. All of them basically one same file. And I can only use 1 font at a time.

I took at look at the 5.8.7 kindle firmware to see if I could find out what CONTENT_FONT_RAMP is used for. I found that is the equivalent to FONT_RAMP, but for KFX format. Unfortunately, a debug flag that is set to "false" prevents it from actually functioning in the released firmware.

I'm on 5.8.8 and still having this problem. I've tried restarting. I've tried a factory reset. No joy :-(

Do you know what the last-good firmware version is, and if we can downgrade to it? |

Not from 5.8.8, from any firmware earlier than that it can be downgraded in a round-about way. Last edited by knc1; 04-04-2017 at 05:50 PM. |

There's no way to root the device without downgrading, then? Can't SSH in, wipe firmware, start over? |

I didn't have this problem until 5.8.5.0.2, so I'm guessing that whatever version came immediately prior to 5.8.5.0.2 would be okay. Unfortunately this is moot given knc1's info that you can't downgrade from 5.8.8 :(

I edit my books to adjust formatting before using Send-to-Kindle, and I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. It happens with every book I've read for months, but with some books it happens more frequently than others. |
