I think it's logistics rather than a restriction for any other reason. If it's in Kobo's store it's pretty simple for them to serve up the book and simply add the days restriction on the device. Yes they're both owned by Kobo now and I assume that OD has a copy of the books, but to get the book off the OD servers you'd have to make the two systems communicate (and over multiple countries with different restrictions) which would add a lot more complexity than using their existing system.

Fair enough. For now it's all new.

I have the same problem with the large library in Montreal. It is not supported on the KA1 yet. Apparently not all libraries are supported at this time, but they are supposedly working on it. When I phoned Kobo, they told me to contact the library directly which I did. The library was unable to say when/if Overrdrive support would be added.

Burnaby Public Library here has the same issue -- card number and pin login not supported from Overdrive. When I contacted them, after being passed around half the staff including my call twice being sent back to someone I'd already talked with, the best answer I got was "perhaps in the future".

It appears that there's a level of Overdrive integration that the OPL doesn't support yet. (Or a level of integration with OPL that Overdrive doesn't support yet.) Pity for the Aura One owners. Should Overdrive integration come to the H2O I'll be cursing it too.

I'm not cursing it. In fact I'm embracing it. Bare in mind it's a new feature and we are all still learning about it. And discovering its hidden secrets as we stumble along.

I'm wondering if the Overdrive feature will work for me here. I don't use a card#/pin to access my library, I use card#/password for access. Does anyone know if this set up is likely to work on the Aura ONE?

My Overdrive library has a password (characters & numbers) rather than a pin (only numbers). It works fine with my KA1.

Overdrive is working beautifully with my KA1.

The only thing I haven't tested is placing a request thru Kobo on an OD book.

I have a healthy wish list thru my library OD account as well as getting notified of requests for purchases available that I haven't been using the Kobo website since first using the device.

Guys, I live in Turkey and although we have overdrive integrated libraries here in Ankara, in which one of them I have a membership, overdrive option is not enabled in KA1 with latest firmware. Any ideas?

The thing is, the OPL is the only library I belong to. Having Overdrive integration that doesn't work with my Overdrive -based library would be very irritating for me.

It may not be supported in Turkey yet. In the details on the device description it says: "*Dependent on library participation, available through most public libraries in North America, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Ebook availability will vary based on library.". Likely based on user location it will either enable the OD option or not depending if it is supported in that region or not.

All Ontario libraries are linked to Overdrive. Since I can access my Ontario library you should be able too. Not all overdrive books are available at our libraries, though as they pay for each copy available to them.
