Ordered my One direct from Kobo on the 31st. Received a confirmation email shortly after I placed the order, then...nothing. I've received no further emails from Kobo regarding my order.
I did receive a notification from Fedex this morning, since I'm signed up to receive a notification any time something is sent to my address. Seems the package shipped from HK yesterday, and will arrive on Friday the 9th. |

I have a problem with funds being held at-will. You don't tie up the consumer's money simply because the item is not available for timely shipment, and no notification or status updates provided, even when requested by the consumer.
I opened a dispute with PayPal. Kobo will be notified and is expected to respond. per PayPal terms. At any time I can escalate and file a PayPal claim, at which time PayPal will make the decision on what action to take. In this case (vendor can't provide proof of shipment), I believe a refund is warranted. If I don't receive a tracking number or the item, or Kobo does not respond via the PayPal dispute resolution center by end of day tomorrow, I'll file a claim to get my money back. I've exercised patience and proactively sought information from Kobo customer service to no avail. Note: I ordered around 10:30am (central) on the 30th. I'm in the US and ordered directly from Kobo on the 30th at 10 AM. Tracking number showed it in Memphis, TN on 2nd. Received unit on 6th at about 9 AM.

they know nothink! (think sgt Shultz) no info at all - customer service (such as it is) can't even see that I have a pre-order let alone whether I ordered it in the last hour or not and that is exactly why I would like to cancel (if I could) - so unprofessional |

I don't think there is queue that makes any sense and that is what is the most frustrating. Since I live in the Western US, I actually ordered on the 29th before I went to bed (which would have been equivalent to 12:21AM EST on the 30th). Can't get much earlier in the queue than that! So it's hard to be patient when people who ordered later already have the product in hand. I also ordered a cover at the same time. I am wondering if they have delays in the cover stock, and Kobo can't (or won't) split up an order into multiple shipments.

I ordered an Aura One from the Kobo website on August 30th at 07:50 am. I've received no status updates since the original confirmation order. Frustrating!

signed up for delivery notifications for/with FedEx low and behold there is supposed to be a delivery before noon this Friday from KERRY LOGISTICS (HK) LTD (assuming...) nothing from Kobo of course thanks jdcarpe! |

Voila! I file a claim with PayPal and get a tracking number a few minutes later. Ain't that somethin'. Shipped via FedEx; scheduled for delivery Friday morning.
