Spoiler:
I'm thinking about waiting to order it after some covers become available, but that could take weeks or months. Maybe I'll order the reader, and use it a home only, until a cover becomes available. Actually, I like the original cover, apart from the fact that they HAD to go and make the front cover floppy to give it a 'stand mode'... I don't like that. If they hadn't, I wouldn't even care that much about the price. On the other hand, I'm now using a KPW1, which sits in a €12 cover I bought from eBay, and that is holding up perfectly well. |

I wonder if Gecko fixed their covers. In the past, they had a cover where you slide the reader into it from the left, but they didn't have a velcro retaining flap like my 'eBay cover' does. So the reader always wants to move back out of the cover and/or sits askew. For the rest, their covers are good, AFAICS.

I can't pick any of the choices, as I did order a cover, just not the Kobo one.
I ordered an Oberon cover (the 2012 Kindle Fire HD7 is the same size as the Aura ONE to within 2mm/0.08", an even better fit than the IPad Mini). Yes, I splurged ![]() Last edited by mbovenka; 09-09-2016 at 07:42 AM. |

They really should start making covers with swappable hard shells. There was one manufacturer who did, but I can't remember the name... |

I'm using mine naked, but transport it in a cheap small tablet zipped pouch (Amazon Basics). I want to skin the front with a matte black one from Decal Girl. Sent an inquiry asking if they plan on offering stuff for the Aura One. The texture and look of the bezel on the One isn't appealing to me, nor that logo.

I've ordered an Aura ONE without a cover, but I did order a cheap 8 inch neoprene sleeve with it, so I don't have to have the reader lying around bare, and I can transport it if I so choose.
The aura is about 8mm shorter than an iPad Mini, but it's 4mm wider. I just assume the generic sleeve will fit anything from a 7 inch Android tablet to at least the 7.9 inch iPad, and thus probably the Aura ONE. As soon as some covers are available, notably from Gecko Covers, I'll probably order a book style cover that'll never be taken off, except for the occasional cleaning/dusting of the reader. I took the same path with the Kindle I have now, four years ago, and it worked out splendidly. |

I haven't bought an Aura One so this is just hypothetical for me but $50 for a cover is just ridiculous.

I bought a universal 7"-8" tablet cover at Five Below. fits very well The cutout that is on in for a camera is pretty well lined up for the power button. It has adjustable metal prongs in the four corners giving a good hold.

I've received the wrong sleeve. The store sent me the 7 inch instead of the 8 inch one. So I'll have to have that swapped. The reader seems to be fine though. It's not perfect with regard to settings/customization (what is? the KPW1 wasn't either), but it's enough of an improvement over the KPW1 to be satisfied.
