Which book downloaded to which device? - Page 3

I agree, checking "send to another device" on the thank you screen doesn't seem to work at all. I *always* have to go to the content management page, if I want it sent again.

Wonder if they know it doesn't work ....

Julius Caesar, the answer is no, there is no way to tell on the website which book has already been downloaded to which device attached to your account. HOWEVER, if you download to the device in your hand, and open the book, it will ask you if you want to go to the latest page. You can at least get to your place in the book. You pretty much can't have two people reading the same book at the same time for this reason.

I have 8 kindle devices, most of which are used by other family members. But, yeah, been there - can't remember which device I was reading something on OR grabbed the device that didn't have my current book.

The one exception is that any time you buy a book, it is automatically sent to download to your primary device, whatever that is. It's usually the first one in the list of your devices.

curiouser and curiouser .....(pasted from short OED). Some have a check & others don't; spotted options on top, "All, Downloaded". The thing is that I have no idea why the checkmark indicating downloaded applied; didn't touch most of the marked/downloaded using the Kinder reader.
Touched 3 books & saw the green underline to indicate downloading before turning to red as downloaded; & the "sequence" is now changed in that the 3 just downloaded books are the 1st 3 books displayed (horizontally). The sequence of books displayed doesn't indicate whether it has been downloaded or not; but the just downloaded becomes my "most recent" books on the list/display.

I've only read 2 or 3 books using the Kindle reader so don't know why nearly 1/2 of the books were downloaded; only think that some processing got changed with the various Kindle reader updates.

Hindsight say that I might have clicked on "send to my Fire" in the early days when I knew less than what I knew now, which is still little.

It was probably the default device as Fires used to be listed first.
Glad we worked it out.
A long press on the book will bring up a remove from device screen.
Oh and congrats on being the 192,345th person to not know how the fire worked.

Ok maybe not that many but you are certainly not the first that thought because it showed the cover, they were on the device.

Does the Fire have a text only index, like the other kindles do? (I don't have a Fire, so this is an academic question, in hopes that it might be helpful to OP.)

Don't know about the new ones but the old one has a list view and a grid view. The list has a tiny thumbnail cover. With text.

Does THAT view still show books which haven't actually been downloaded? Maybe a silly question, since OP has already figured out what (s)he needs.

If you are in cloud view, yes. The on device view, no.
