Well Size don't matter really I just wanted to know IF side loaded items e-book, music & movies etc have also been removed. IF amazon doing it to 8.9 then wont be long before they mess with others.

It seems the Fire HD 8 is now only sold in 8 GB. I think that's a shame....maybe they sold the stock of 16 GB when they had that unannounced sale, and never ordered more? I'm super glad I got mine when I did, and at the super price of $99.

No, many people probably just get the cheap $49 Fire, even though it's not as good. It's "good enough." I'm sure they'd sell a boatload of the HD 8" if they ran them on sale again.

It depends what you want to use it for. In my opinion, the $49 Fire is not great for reading. I prefer a higher resolution. But for anything else, that tablet is great.

I found this odd, because I never noticed it before. Last night my son was watching a movie we own via his new Fire Stick. I got an icon on my Fire tablets, as well as in my notifications, that it was being watched on "Anne's 2nd Fire Stick." It's mind-boggling why they feel to notify me, or in any case, my tablets.

It is for 'second screen' functionality: you can control playback and look up the X-Ray information without interrupting. It is a feature I use a lot.
