I can access it locally with localhostortnumber or via Calibre Companion on my tablet. It's external access via my ip address that is the problem
Anywhere Internet requires router configuration (AKA Port forwarding)
Does your Machine get the EXACT same IP as it did under W7 ?

Do you have more than 1 NIC? (Preferences: Tweaks to force)
Calibre may be listening to the wrong one. (FWIW I disabled the 10/100 mainboard port and installed a 10/100/1000 card) I have heard tales that some W10 installs adjust some modern BIOS features. No worry here, all mine is old stuff

Happy to provide specific details about my setup.

Update : my ISP changed their DSLAM configuration - problem gone
I can access Calibre server by machine name from anywhere on my LAN.
This includes Firefox ON the W10 host <<<
Code:
centaur:8083
Is what I type into the address (only) line

BTW The W7 > W10 upgrade left the batch file I use to start the server in place.

W10 did not find my onboard ethernet (the MB is less than 12 months old) when it first started but it was happy with the old PCI ethernet card I had installed as a backup.

I had a fixed LAN IP set for my PC and port forwarding set up for my Calibre server port.

I've just discovered that since the W10 upgrade my PC was running with a different LAN IP to that set in the router though I don't know how that can occur. Having reset everything I can now access the server from the internet.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Quite likely since the two network cards have different MAC addresses the old assignment had been for an IP address for the onboard NIC, and now the PCI based NIC would get a different IP address.
