I would buy the Sony. The other one does not seem very likely to come soon (if at all, to be honest).

A large screen tablet would probably be a lot cheaper than the Sony 13 inch reader too.
Probably, but the eInk is easier on my eyes. (And I have an Android phone, I really can't justify getting a large tablet too, especially since it would just be to read American comics or play Doctor Who Legacy on a large screen...)

I've ordered one; expecting delivery Friday, March 13, 2015. Years ago, while still employed, I went gaga over the iRex iLiad, thinking that it could take the place of printed paper at my workplace. My desire back then was time efficiency--waiting for printed paper data plots was excruciating. I envisioned simply transferring the PDF to a portable display. These days I have no pressing need for such a device, but this larger Sony simply fascinates me. I disdain descriptors such as "stupid" and "fool" with regard to the manufacturer and customers. I expect that Sony put considerable research and development into manufacturing flexible electronic paper--this is only the tip of the iceberg. Sony has NOT aimed this particular product at students. Many businesses, law practices, medical practitioners and such can make a case for this type of product.
