I have two teenage boys. A couple of Christmas's ago we bought the younger son a Kindle - but he never used it. Our eldest son, who is dyslexic, asked to borrow the Kindle - and he's never looked back since. He really enjoys reading on it and finds it easier than reading on a book. Quite a revelation.

Oh wow, thanks for that I'll look into it. He finds something about the screen makes reading easier and he's lapping books up. When he was younger he had tinted lens and that helped, so perhaps it's something to do with e-ink. |

I'm still 21 and I don't have any children of my own, however, I have a little sister (10 y/o) and I got her a Kindle a few weeks after I got my very first ereader (a Kindle as well) a year ago. At first, I thought it would be a waste, I thought she just wanted one because she sees it as a toy or something new that she'd later get bored of but I was wrong. She has been reading more books and has generally been using it a lot; more than I use my Kindle.

My daughter is only 6 so she doesn't have her own but she uses mine and my wifes whenever she wants. She does some reading on it but mostly likes to play games on my Kindle Fire HDX.
