I find the iPad Retina Mini extremely comfortable to read on. It's replaced my Kindle PW2 as my main reading device at home, although I'd still take the PW2 away on trips due to its much longer battery life, and daylight visibility.

After receiving a Galaxy Tab 3, I have retired, to storage, my Sony 700. I'll be keeping my 700 for use as a back up reader. I split my reading between my two tablets. I consider the Nook Tablet my main readerand the Galaxy as my secondary reader.
Currently, I am using Aldiko for my Reader app. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm reading mostly PDF. The screen of my M92 became defective and a replacement would have cost around 200,- €. So I decided to give a 100,- € tablet a chance although I didn't expect too much.
But I'm blown away. My reading speed finally has reached good levels again, the page turn and handling is snappy and fast.
Believe it or not, the very slow behaviour of the big M92 also influenced my reading style negatively.

Another reason why I did not replace the screen, was the fact that the screen was not illuminated. And although I already use a 60 W bedlight, it is darker than reading real bleached paper.

The mantano reader software is lightyears ahead of the Onyx reader. And that is claimed to be one of the best... And awfully buggy. If someone tells you that scientific reading on a M92 was possible, he is lying or he never has tried.

IMO eReaders must become much faster and snappier. Besides the awfully buggy and bad software.

But in general I'm going back more to paper reading and I will not buy freely a single eBook anymore. The concentration during reading paper for me is much better, the memorization is better, the notes I make will be there in 30 years and will still be readable.

From my personal experiences I can't imagine that eReading is good for kids young brains and their capabilities. The negative effects of multimedia and permanent vision and audio triggers (passive music consumption, especially hours after learning new stuff) has been proven already. eReading is a huge business, but in general in the meanwhile I believe it will make future generations even more dumb and less educated than we are already.

But since the dumbing down is on the Globalist agenda for the broad masses anyway, this seems to be one of the huge hidden benefits of this new technology...
