to be fair I tested the reading timer "off" thing, works perfectly. That much at least is worth it if indeed you were on of those who requested it.

I will say this for amazon/lab126, they listened to customer requests. Respect for that.

so, install jailbreak bridge, update, then install the dev certs and the kindlet thing,and all good to go? cool, glad we finally got the option for hiding the progress bit!

it says it cannot be installed on 5.3.6 or above. i am on 5.3.6.
but seeing as i am already jailbroken, will it still not work, or it is ok? i'll do it now anyway.


-ok so yes even though i am jailbroken it does not work, so i am installing
update_jailbreak_bridge_1.7.N_install.bin and then i will do the kindle update, maybe most people know this but i rarely update my kindle and got a bit confused

because i wasn't wanting/needing to install the jailbreak, just the bridge.

Well, if you have something that requires the kindlet jb (like KUAL) you do have to re-install that.

Which you just found out the hard way.
or
You could have just re-installed the KUAL prerequisites package to make KUAL work.

The "Device Jailbreak" thread gives instructions for installing the "Device Jailbreak" and the parts that make it survive updates.

Making other things work, that information is included in their threads.

ah sure thanks, forgot that kual needed something specific, my fault i knew i had to reinstall my screensaver hack, and apart from that kual is the only thing i have to check the jailbreak status of my kindle, without using usbnet, as far as i know...
