I've read several articles in different places all about Asus Storage not wearing right and to be honest that makes me want to avoid their devices. I mean who wants to spend money on something that could be next to useless in a year all so Asus can charge a few pounds less and skimp on quality. I don't think it's a rumour at all as both Asus and google have made attempts to limit the problem which is made worse by the low storage limits google insists upon 32 gb is pathetic in this day and age we should be seeing at least 128gb as standard already. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Is-ch...r-time_id44240 http://androidandme.com/2013/06/opin...ve-ever-owned/ This time a year ago I was convinced Asus were the company to watch now I think their the company to avoid say what you like about Samsung and Apple but at least they use high quality components throughout. |

BS, they can be just as stupid and opinionated! As you can see I cannot stand any fanboys whether they are fanboys of Apple, Android, Microsoft, Sony, Amazon, etc. They are all narrow-minded and never open to critical thinking.

Actually I checked again and Google's announcement is correct, the 2nd generation Nexus 7 is the highest pixel density tablet available: http://pixensity.com/list/tablet/
This now does not include phones/phablets etc. I am going to pick one up on the 30th. Hopefully we can all chime in on a new-Nexus 7 review thread and see how nice this tablet is! ![]() PS Anyone else have rumors/ideas of anything better in that form factor? |

And the problem referred to by your fist link is once again software, not hardware. Just website making buzz on nothing, that's all. One or two N7 have issue, and everyone goes "Oh no all the N7 are going to break down right now !!!!". Seriously... Last edited by EowynCarter; 07-25-2013 at 03:34 PM. |

There are thousands of posts on the web about this absolutely everywhere including XDA and Google Play itself, try looking at the posts on the app forever gone (a supposed temporary fix that addresses the lack of hardware based trim). While I'm not sure if every Nexus 7 is effected including my own as it takes time to show up or if the new one is going to be effected, I definitely see buying Asus as an unnecessary gamble until it's been shown clearly they have stopped using the bad nand storage. |

As a Nexus 7 owner myself, I'd be interested in seeing links to the information you're talking about please.

See afv011 post above. There are some lags issue, but it's SOFTWARE and can easily be fixed. A website did some actual searching, asked people to do some test with various Nexus, there where no significant difference between the older one and the new one. That website, in french sorry, and currently down. https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j...49784469,d.ZG4 It's like the one time a few iPhone batteries burned... a few on millions, big deal, really. I'd say enjoy your tablet and Google have made a few changes in android to make the bug less likely to appear so there is reason to be hopeful I'd just have preferred them to not go with asus again as I'd rather not buy from a company that cuts corners like that. |
