I've already told you that I believe the problem lies with your router, not your Kindle.

If it works elsewhere, that proves that the problem is NOT with the Kindle. Therefore, by a process of elimination, it's almost certainly with the router.

You need to log on to your router via its web interface, and check that:
1. The Kindle is appearing on the list of devices for the DHCP server (assuming your router is a DHCP server - they almost all are). 2. That it's not being blocked. Pretty much all routers give you the option of only allowing specified devices to connect - you might have enabled this. How you do this depends on your router - they're all different. |

Things to check:
1) Is there MAC address filtering going on with the router? Perhaps your mother's Kindle's MAC address (and other devices) has been approved where yours has not. 2) Is your mother's Kindle the exact same model as yours? If not, is it possible her Kindle is a 3G model and as such, is not even using the wifi router to connect? 3) Do newer Kindles allow you to browse anywhere you want to go on the internet with a Kindle that isn't registered? Is your Kindle registered (I only ask because of all the resetting that was going on)? |

I used to be able to use the internet with my Kindle before. And me and my mother Kindle is kinda the same. How can it work before and stop working after?
I have my own Amazon account so I think it is. My mother Kindle is not the same kind but it's almost the same. It's not an Kindle fire. But it does have an keyboard |
