Wouldn't it depend on what the ePub spec says? Sounds more like a bug then a feature to me. As I primarily read english fiction, I don't consider it a big deal.

I like the Kobo for all it's formatting options, but it should handle embedded fonts. Isn't that what the "publisher's defaults" is for?

It did sound like a missing feature, but I am not that familiar with the topic. How does the feature exist when you don't put the font-family in the body style?

Maybe there's a complete explanation somewhere you could point to (or else you could explain it here)?
