Wow, that's even more baffling since Kindles have been around for years. Still no covers on home screen, yet other eink devices do so. Unless this is supposed to be their "signature" homescreen. Like the physical keyboard is a signature trait. It's not a deal breaker, but it's lame and dated.

I would be a lot more interested in this if it had page turn buttons.

I often use my K3 while eating and just wipe the buttons off when I'm done. But that won't be so easy with the screen. So what do people do, turn it with their nose?

It's not a big deal for me—since I don't really care about covers—but I know that most readers really seem to enjoy their cover art, so it is a bit baffling why they haven't done it. Just stubborn I guess. The "look" of the Kindle Framework has stayed fairly consistent since the beginning.

Just use your knuckle.

I agree I think it would be nice if they included some hard buttons too.

It is possible that the experimental web browser can only be accessed with wifi and not 3G. Which is an issue if you use the web browser to check emails when travelling overseas. Am trying to clarify but this is an issue for me.

I had the Nook Touch for a bit and I kept flipping pages when I accidentally touched the screen. Now I'm not sure if I want the Kindle Touch or the Kindle 4.

A Kindle 4 sans touch means everything is by D-pad (and a few extra buttons); so if you care about text entry you'll want to keep your K3 or get a K4 Touch.

Is it mentioned anywhere if touch model will be available for uk store? It's strange that only the non touch model is available. It's not like touch screens are restricted to only USA. We do have them here

Almost certainly simply an issue of manufacturing capacity. I suspect we'll see the touch models after Christmas.
