There will always be exceptions like you and your mother, or even myself. I HAVE to have a good audio/HT setup. I researched, and examined the pros and cons of various audio goodies before I made my purchases.

Most women couldn't care less about this kind of stuff so long as it's small & hidden even if it sounds like crap.

Please quit making assumptions. My mother hates technology and uses a computer almost never, but she was still the first in the family to get a shiny iPad and she bought a Sony Reader after she saw mine.

So, no, "most women" don't pretty much anything WRT technology. People are unique. My Mom dislikes computers but has an iPad, my husband LOVES computer gadgets but never uses the tablet I bought him. Etc. I really, really, really do not like gender essentialism because (a) it promotes stereotypes and (b) it's usually pretty damn inaccurate.

If "most women" weren't technologically driven, then men would be the leaders in the tablet market and eReader market.
