On that note, I think I'll have a kobe burger with gruyere from the Frites & Meats truck. Too bad, the Korean BBQ truck is in midtown today. Their kimchi is always the best. I think one of their grandmothers makes it. *sigh*

Cheeseburger is not my favorite, but this sounds interesting. Where's the truck?

Have you tried the kimchi from the Korean stand at the Union Sq greenmarket? It's awesome, so much better than the stuff in the korean groceries. Cucumber's my favorite. Also the kimchee tofu, which they don't always have.

BTW, I had lunch at a Filipino restaurant yesterday; it was ok, not great. I won't mention it anymore here because it was just ok, not great. There are supposed to be some good Filipino restaurants in Jersey City and also Jackson Heights.

Notice how much more interesting this thread has become, now that it's been hijacked.

Don't recognize my avatar? The truck is uptown, near a certain educational institution.

I haven't tried the stand at Union Square; I'm not often down there anymore. Used to work there though and I really miss the falafel hole in the wall on 17th/18th Street between 5th and Broadway. They have the best grape leaves--with crushed almonds, meat, or just rice/spices. The owner would always slip me an extra. God, I miss that guy/grape leaves/shwarma.

Nonetheless, everyone can easily understand what is written on that statement. This is the pleasure of living in a globalized world.

As someone who lives in a country where the language is far different from my native language, I can clearly state that there is a vast difference between understanding and writing something for public consumption.

I don't mind at all. Their English is better than my Tagalog.

I don't know if it matters to anyone, but the last time I was on the phone with Entourage, I spoke to a very nice young gentleman who assured me he was in Virginia, but that he was originally from the Phillipines.

Aren't they trained to say they're in the U.S.? By "they," I mean outsource workers.

I've never had one lie to me about that, and I do usually ask.
