yeah, very scary. my friend who's in japan now just posted on facebook. thank goodness. she's still feeling the aftershocks and is trying to contact the rest of her relatives in japan.

well, it's 0145. I;m going to try to get some more sleep. I expect my daughter will call again when their tsunami hits

That's a wonderful resource, not only earthquakes/volcanoes, but epidemics and "things that may fall from the sky".

so much scary stuff, *sigh* our president is pretty unlucky. during the time when his mother was president, we got all sorts of bad stuff happening too (eruptions, earthquakes, etc). looks like history is repeating itself with her progeny.

Hey, folks, I heard back from the mods about why the "MobileRead Contact" thread has been unstickied. It's because it's very out of date and the OP is no longer on MR. If somebody wants to start a new thread like "Let Us Know if You'll Be Gone So We Don't Worry" or "Has Anyone Heard From ...?", they will sticky it for us if it proves to be a useful thread.

well when I called some family members this morning to let them know my daughter was ok, they had already seen her status on her facebook page. I guess all is good there.

there are two damaged US Subs in Guam and the son in law was in port ;o(
