I'd be curious to see a side by side comparison of the two. I read chm files with FBReader exclusively on the iLiad, and I have no complaints. They've really improved on chm support in the last few releases. I've ported xchm to the iLiad, and it was a pain to use.

I'd like to use the Iliad as a pen input device for PC programs in Windows (Word/Powerpoint/OpenOffice etc)

The best part about FBReader when reading chm files, is that when you hit the end of a section, simply press the down hardware button to go the the next. You can also view the table of contents by selecting that item from the tool bar. You can find what I did with xchm here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...13&postcount=8 |

Is there any way to persuade Irex to change boot loader so it could try to load a image from let's say internal flash drive first and if it doesn't exist or a file is not a image - fallback to loading a one in the ROM? |

With e-ink it should be even possible to leave the picture on the screen while the device has been shut down. That is what happens if iLiad runs out of batteries... Kind of confusing but it could be made configurable. Although I must admit, writing image to internal flash and reloading it first thing after some basic initalization has been done (i wonder how long it would take).. The idea is just brilliant !

Probably they do. But they are spread thin qua programming resources. Originally they just wanted to offer basic programs and have a large company add and tweak for their employees etc.
Now Irex has to do more for the non business customers. That is why they are asking for programmers. If I could program..I would apply. Hell, they are 1 hour by car away from my home. |

Hi, I don't know if this thread is still alive... What about trying to port/implement a working DJVU viewer on the iLiad? Half of my ebooks (mostly scientific, I admit...) are in DJVU and this is definitely one of the most popular formats, at least in the scientific community. I know scotty1024 did some work in porting javadjvu onto the iLiad, but his application doesn't install on 2.11 and, according to some other posts I read on this and other forums, scotty1024's viewer is almost useless anyway, due to bugs and various other limitations.
