Would you be able to fit network support on the flash, so you can explore your local network and pull down remote files? Map network drives even?

I would really like to be able to open multiple files and an easy way to switch between these opened files.

Yes, a sketch program would be nice, too. We have calibration, has anyone been working on pressure sensitivity?

Epub support on the iLiad would be a nice feature.

Oh and there's something for Feedbooks on the iLiad that's almost ready (well most of the programming is, with some extra help from Adam B. for the porting, this should be really nice).

I like to have a way that FBreader works better on the Iliad.
To read a RTF document, I need to do that from FBreader. But just click on rtf would be nice.
I know there is a file you can edit. but as non linux user...that is not possible I think. Or could i do that from windows and notepad?
If so, where is it then?

I thing you need to modify the file er_registry.txt, however this can be a dangerous. Adam B. is currently working on a script to add FBReader to the er_registry (link is below)

Oolite?

On a (very much) lighter note, I don't suppose Oolite (or another simpler Elite derivative) could be ported? Oolite itself apparently needs a graphics card and I suspect also a faster processor but I don't know the exact iLiad specs.

I think that real-time graphical games aren't fit for the iliad. Something like scummvm migh be in the edge of what's possible, but certainly not space-sim opengl games .

that said maybe it would be worthwhile to make a list of cndidate types of games to be mplemented or ported to the iliad.

For example, board games are a good fit (es design256's port of gnuchess demostrated).

Also are sudokus and crossword puzzles (demontrated by yokos excellent sudoku collections).

Text based adventures (both Adam B and scotty1024 ported version of zork vm).

Any more?

The Iliad has a hard disk? I was under the impression that it used flash memory - is that not the case?

Wasn't "getting" at you - I don't know very much at all about the Iliad and I enjoy reading this forum to find out more about it. Just wanted to make sure that I hadn't got the wrong idea about it .

Since Iliad doesn't have a built-in support for quick "suspend-restore" mode why not to implement a simple workaround for it:

*When a user pushes the power switch off, the running application (OS itself?) automatically makes a snapshot shot of everything on the screen and dumps it to some temporarily folder.

*On the startup OS loader checks for a presence of this image file and displays it (instead of standard boot-time picture) thus allowing us to continue reading when OS is not even loaded.

Of course there is some security implications and usability issues that should be looked at - but you got the idea. On a good side - techinically it should not be difficult to implement because all the steps are pretty straighforward.

I've read that the similar aproach has been successfully employed either by Apple or Xerox, then why not to make it work for a Iliad users too?

Adam, what do you think ?

I would like to have a pdf reader that can go pack to the initial page after following a link. I asked Irex several time but it's still not available.
Yep, but XCHM is more particular to CHM files ...
