I've heard nothing but good things about Sumo beanbags, missing revenue not withstanding.

Two problems from my perspective:

1) "little foam beads"
2) not nearly big enough to suit my seventy-three inches of height.

The revenue stream lack is a wash for me, since I jug my change in the first place.

Excellent! I have a Love Sac (the big one) and it's great. Just make sure you get a cover that doesn't require drycleaning...

Dry cleaning?!? Which cover did you get?

I'm thinking about the microsuede or the twill (I think they both say they're machine-washable). I think the microsuede will pick up less dog hair, and with 2 papillons in the apartment, that's a big consideration.

I thought about the 8' one, but decided that the 6' is sufficient for me.

'Jug' is a euphemism, I use a 20" high, plastic Coca~Cola bottle. I currently have $404.39 in it, so I'm getting close to the 6 footer with the microsuede cover.

I just did, in part due to the great discussion on this forum. My Reader just arrived this afternoon, and I've already got some of my Baen favorites loaded on. It's already more than I expected.

I think that's the ticket. Those who buy the reader expecting a full pledge book replacement\ebook reader\small laptop\light bulb\ end up disappointed. While you, like me expect nothing and get a workable pioneering ebook reader. I still haven't got the reader (delays by the customs), and right now if I get a working device without any of the horror stories I read about here - it will be quite enough for me.

Well said, simple dave.

I've also found that the folks most disappointed with purchases, are usually the ones who took the least time researching them before buying.

That said, it's nice when the research is easy to do, so that you don't have to commit your life to it for months before making a decision.

... and if you wait for the "perfect" device, you'll be waiting for a long time. Far better, IMHO, to enjoy a great device now rather than waiting for that elusive perfection which is always promised for 6 months time, but which never quite seems to materialise.

When you can get lost in a story, without having to think about the physical book itself, without having to think about the way you change the next page, it is a great joy. The Sony reader, during my first book reading with it gave me that feeling. I'm still amazed and I'm looking forward to a longstanding relationship with it.

I think it's denim? It doesn't look like they still carry it (I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago).

At the time, it was meant to serve as our bed, but it turns out they're not ideal for sleeping in... Especially for two people.
