I've just checked my Manage-Your-Content / Apps on Amazon, and it showed two in particular as not available to deliver to my new HD6 but one is installed and works fine, and the other I was able to just now download and run without issue. I haven't gone through the whole listing on the web. However there was an app I was desperately trying to load - and couldn't find when searching on the HD6 when I first got it. That one apparently isn't compatible and isn't available for delivery to the device nor does it show up in my Cloud listing of apps on the device. Have you checked via the device itself? Personally, I'd trust the device over the website. |

Box showed up tonight in my list of cloud apps and I was able to download and get it to work, so that's encouraging. Spotify still won't download though. I kind of expected a few wrinkles until everything is sorted out.
BTW nice of Amazon to throw in 500 free coins, was able to upgrade office calculator to the ad-free version. Last edited by conan50; 10-19-2014 at 11:14 PM. |

I will if I must. When the free Android version of Spotify was first released, it took a few weeks before the updated app hit the Amazon App Store. Right now I figure an updated Spotify is coming for the Fire HD6. I'm trying to keep within Amazon's App system right now to increase the device security, but if I can't get a needed app I will open it up and side-load.

This tells you we need to download our apps on our 2013 models before it upgrades to the new Sangria.

Can anyone recommend a cheap bluetooth head phone or earbud type thing that will work with the Fire?

When I first registered my HD6, the Apps tab showed nothing for quite awhile (maybe an hour or so). I had added a couple of App collections, those showed up right away and I was able to download those apps right away. Then all of a sudden the full list showed up. I assume it was busy syncing this and that.
All the apps I wanted on there were available for download, which is to say, all of the ones I had previously on my HD7, including OverDrive, which works fine. I would not trust what Your Apps says. There are at least several apps there that say I cannot deliver to my HD6 but which show up in the Cloud list on the device and download just fine. In fact I think I'm only missing a couple of old Angry Birds games (and I really don't miss them!). Last edited by tomsem; 10-21-2014 at 02:33 AM. |

Here's a list of 'regressions' I've noticed so far:
- Collections. When viewing a collection, you cannot visually tell which items are on the device. You have to long-tap and see what options you get: if you don't see 'More' options, then it is not on the device. - TOC panel does not (or almost never does) slide out with left-to-right swipe from left edge, as it does with my HD7(2013). Have to tap to bring up options, then tap the triple-bar (menu) icon. The slideout panel seems balky in other apps, though not to the point of total refusal to slide out (it has only worked one time so far). - BlueTooth volume is too low (max volume is only just 'normal'), and it really should be a separate volume setting entirely (not the same level as used for the speaker). - Double-tap never zooms an image. In the past KF8 images could be zoomed this way. Now everything has to be done the 'slow' way: long tap, then tap on zoom icon. - Magazines. Double tap used to initiate Text mode. now you have to do that through a menu. And when in Text mode, tapping on the 'X' does not close text mode, you have to tap to bring up reading options and then tap the 'X' to return to page mode. - I have yet to have it stop 'Learning reading speed' and give me 'time to end of chapter' - the lines of Notes are vertically centered as you type them in (i.e. equal whitespace above and below). It feels like an odd design decision, compared with everything else I've ever used. |
