@kovid is the error with KoboTouch because of the Bookself error or is it an error that needs to be fixed?

Yes it's better… but what do you mean by 'don't fit'?

The whitish dividers in your light mode screenshot are the same size as the dark grey dividers in your dark mode screenshot - why can't the same dividers be used for both colour modes?

The rounded top edge makes it more obvious it's not a book… please leave it be.

I predict when version 9 is released there will be requests for the shelf view to have the same visual styling features as grid view - TBH I was more than a little surprised that that feature wasn't "reused/copied & pasted" into shelf view.

You obviously did not read post #400 in this thread. I posted an example of a false positive.

'Don't fit' in in the meaning "Using a flashy off-white on a uniform block don't fit to a dark mode."

*sigh* I revers it in the code, need to all redo.
Oh well, if so, it will be the occasion to make it a multiple-choice option for every one.

The prototype version use it, but Kovid drop it when he reworked the shelf to what is this now. The main reason I suspect is because the shelf is become pretty heavy rendering process, but I'd rather not go into speculation about that, it's Kovid domain. Personaly I'm okay with that.

I've already reported this and it's already fixed in source.

You do have a problem with KTExtra. It looks like the same error KoboTouch has.

I already suggested grid view be used for bookshelf view. It would be a lot easier to read the covers.

Who appointed you the arbiter of visual aesthetics

I'll reserve judgement to the next release.

calibre_plugins.count_pages.statistics:416: SyntaxWarning: "\D" is an invalid escape sequence. Such sequences will not work in the future. Did you mean "\\D"? A raw string is also an option.
Code:
    get_cbz_page_count('''C:\Dev\Tools\eclipse\workspace\_Misc\misery-depot.zip''')
    get_cbr_page_count('''C:\Dev\Tools\eclipse\workspace\_Misc\misery-depot.cbr''')
Taking out those two lines caused the warnings to stop appearing.

I also took a look at the SyntaxWarning for Favorites Menu and again it's a false positive. So I think the others may be false as well.

It also seems that the KoboTouch driver now has some errors. How do I know if it's safe to connect my Kobo to the beta with the errors or should I wait unit they are fixed?
That is a Python error. As the error message says, the updated Python 3.14.2 in the calibre beta does not support the \x string format. This will need to be fixed in the plugins.
