Back in the day, I believe the canonical descriptor for such storage spaces was "Fibber McGee's closet". You really didn't want to open the door.

An old friend is living in the family home after the death of her mother for whom she had been providing elder care. She mentioned a dumpster on the front lawn getting filled with accumulated crap, and another being needed as a possibility.

She was a little bemused at no less than 17 hibachis accumulated in the attic, and evidence that pack rat parents simply never threw anything out...

Oh we throw out stuff every move but people keep giving us stuff. We filled the dumpster up when we moved from Tennessee. Landlord wasn't happy but he forgave us because he told us not to leave anything in the townhouse. We lived in the middle of nowhere so there was no where else to put it. Raleigh everything went into the second bedroom. Here it's too tiny so it's in a storage unit. Makes it tough to go through. Hubby ripped open boxes so it's a mess. Dust and cobwebs everywhere.

I just treated myself to a small die cutting machine. I've been getting back into photo journalling. I've finally got all the photo's from August until December printed, I'm currently putting them in the right order. A couple of weeks ago I ordered some new supplies, including some dies. But I realized that I hardly every die cut anymore. Mostly because I'm too lazy to get up and die cut one small embellishment.

On a Facebook group I have been seeing the the Diamond Press, a small die cutting machine, which (in theory) I can just leave on my desk and die cut small things on the go. So I decided to look if my local store stocked it. It did and suddenly I had ordered it, plus a load of dies and embossing folders.

I'm going to wait until I have the machine, I can pick it up on Sunday, the store opens at 11am. Which means that I need to clean my desk, to make space. I have this afternoon off, I had planned a lazy reading afternoon, but it looks like it'll be a busy afternoon. Hopefully I can now start using up some of my small bits of left over paper and my 6x6 inch paperpads.

We filled 5 dumpsters while cleaning out my ex's previous home, with his late wife. He was a hoarder, and she apparently couldn't cure him and/or had similar tendencies. He didn't just save bills paid 40 years previously, he saved a note from her saying "I thought you were going to pay this one", which was now in arrears. Sigh.

Diabetic neuropathy in my feet turns sleep into a prolonged nightly torture session, so I'm sitting in my favorite chair, repeatedly nodding off, waking up & delaying going to bed as long as I reasonably can.
