I agree that as long as the buttons is sensitive enough a "narrow" button doesn't need to be a problem. That being said it needs to be more sensitive than that of the Kindle 2 on which I find that you have to make a firm click to get it to flip sides, this is not a problem on the Kindle 2 since the buttons are larger. Since Amazon state that they've managed to reduce the click-sound I'm guessing that the buttons indeed are more sensitive.

Oh, just about everybody if it pays well enough. To put it mildly, the German publisher's ebook strategy has not been a rousing success so far. If making money in that market means getting into bed with Jeff they will, eventually, you can count on that.

I was just thinking, how awesome would it be if we could schedule news download in Calibre and 'push' it to the Kindle through WiFi. With some taskscheduler magic you'd have morning news with you at no extra effort.
Do you guys think that would be possible? Is it possible with the nook wifi? Quote:

Going to Bed with Jeff today might lead to insignificance tomorrow and bankruptcy the day after. But then true, our decision maker only think of the bonus for the new yacht today so Jeff might still win. |

I just checked out the mobi forums. My reaction? OMGWTF
I mean seriously, krischik you weren't exaggerating even in the slightest bit. If that's what mobi is headed to, now suddenly the Mobi format on the kindle looks much less attractive :-( Last edited by ski_power; 09-10-2013 at 03:36 PM. |

![]() Personally I found the click buttons easier to depress than the current larger buttons on my K2i (Amazon asked us to bring our existing Kindle along to compare side by side). I pressed them slightly sideways, if anything, but they are small width ways but 'deep' enough that it is not a problem, the sideways action may also be habit from the K2i where you have to do that. Page back button is also at the right hand side replacing the home button, which is relocated to the keyboard. They have a definite click in feel, but not so much in noise, if that makes sense. My particular favorite was the 4 way pad section as I wasn't the biggest fan of the joystick on the K2i. My instinct was to use my thumb but I have RSI in the right thumb from years and years of keyboarding and mouse work, and I did find the joystick made my thumb ache a bit. The back of the unit was covered in a matt rubbery substance which I think should provide better grip for those who like to read their Kindle 'naked', as it were. You should definitely be able to hold in one hand to read, same as K2i, it is a bit lighter overall as well, but the screens are the same size. Side by side it looks like the screen is smaller but it is a bit of an illusion based on the smaller bezel size. Like anything with any of the readers, it is all very personal so what works for me or anyone else, might not work for another. |

I have to say I can't ever remember preferring the look of american scifi/fantasy covers, I definitely find the subtler designs of the uk WoT books far nicer than the horrible american ones.

I'm a little slow, but i don't see much significance to the mobi forums going to &$@). Az has assimilated mobi into it's product and the format is strong. That's like me trying to find a datsun website when they are Nissan now.

If mobipocket themselves have stop supporting mobi, who will ?
And that, indeed, would mean the kindle user having only one choice as a source for e-books. |

I wrote "would mean" not "means".... as in, would happen IF. If mobipocket themselves goes under, do you think baen will still propose mobi ?
