@hooby: Nope, you won't have any issue, the check meme implemented was specifically for the issue you reported, and since you've fixed it, you shouldn't have any trouble
![]() @nynaevelan: Argh, didn't think about catalogs... You'll probably have to tag it with the same tag as your pdoc tag, and *resend* it to your Kindle after that. (The metadata that's bothering us is only set by calibre when the catalog is sent, not when it's created). |

Kindle Collections Installation Suggestion
I had the same error when I tried installing that the file was not a zip file. When I did my windows installation originally I foolishly gave my username a weird character with umlauts ö, and Windows doesn't like that . It automatically saves files to c:\users\myusernäme but won't let me unzip zip files from there, so I had to explore to the C drive, and copy the zip file there, then follow the installation instructions and it worked like a champ.
I hope this helps. |

I use Calibre to create it with the mobi format for a kindle. It is my understanding from reading on this forum that with periodicals on the kindle you cannot put it into a collection. I cannot manually add it to a collection on the kindle, so I assume "they" know what they are talking about. So how do I get this to stop showing up as a warning each time??

EDIT: Nope, that didn't fix it, I deleted the book and resent it with Catalog set in the settings and it still gives the warning. Last edited by nynaevelan; 03-14-2011 at 09:08 PM. |

@nynaevelan: Make sure you don't have an old catalog laying around, I don't have any issue with calibre's catalogs once they're correctly tagged as pdoc (But, yeah, by default they aren't).
@meme: I'm still seeing a few bits of UTF-8 stuff, in the titles in the Edit collection panel, and in titles & collection names in individual book reports in the console when running calibre-debug. |

What command are you running when you see this (create/preview/view/edit/etc).
Can you run "calibre-debug -g" and show the output when you run the same command? Last edited by meme; 03-15-2011 at 05:04 AM. |

Alternatively, change your Personal doc tag to "Catalogue" (or "Catalog") to match the default tag used by Catalogues, and add "Catalogue" (or "Catalog") to your Fetch News -> news item -> Extra Tags settings. Quote:

The workaround didn't work for me, it still gives me the same warning. I've tried different extra tags and still the same thing.

What tags are assigned to your Catalogue book? How many files does Calibre say are on your Kindle for your Catalogue? (if only 1 it won't say any) - look in the Device column |

@pr126 - Can you download and install this test version, then run it in debug mode ("calibre-debug -g") and send the output. This just adds a lot of debugging statements and removes the redundant report info from the debug output so its shorter to post and will help identify what's causing the issue you are having.
@NiLuJe - Can you also download and test this version for the encoding character issue. A simple change fixed the encoding issue I had in the Edit collection titles so I want to see if it fixes yours or makes it worse. And since I've removed the report info from the debug output you won't see issues there. @nynaevelan - try this test version to check for your PDOC settings EDIT: test version removed Last edited by meme; 03-29-2011 at 02:33 PM. |
