Well, I am a bigger fan of Apple and the event was already on when it arrived.

Now the HD 6 is stuck on the update. Grrrr... It just keeps going back through, says it's downloaded 100% and then it starts again.

There's an update? I got mine this morning, and have been setting it up and reading on it since it came, and I haven't seen an update. What version are you on?

After seven tries, it finally updated to Fire OS 4.1.1

Now I can't get the Audible to work.

I agree--mine had 4.1.1 out of the box, and no problems with Audible.

The citron color is nice. My biggest concern was that it would be a slick plastic, but it has a slight textured feel, so it doesn't feel like it will slip out of your hand. No cover for this bad boy. It fits perfectly into a shirt and pants pocket. And it feels solid enough to forego the cover, at least for my use. Amazon has a winner here. Makes me wonder why it took them so long to do a 6" tab.

My 6" wasn't 4.1.1 out of the box, but it updated within 30 minutes of turning it on.

I'm returning mine. It's slow and Audible is still not working. I downloaded a Prime Instant Video and when I go to play it, it keeps telling me there's no video on the tablet. I can see that the file downloaded.

Definitely got some problems.

I just got an email from Amazon, I will get my replacement towards the end of November. I don't think so... they can just give me my money back.

Wow, they are sold out of the Citron and the blue. But those November dates can change at any time. Maybe if you were queued for replacement, you would be first in line?

I suspect that right before Christmas these things will be impossible to find, maybe even black color.
Likes so far: Size, textured plastic case, screen quality, speed.
Dislikes so far: Power plug at the top, slightly less touch sensitive than the 2013 hd, Spotify doesn't work (needs update).
Overall impressed so far.

The Citron without ads is in stock. But I don't feel like paying $15 extra.

I think I'll try my luck tomorrow and see if they'll send me one of those as a replacement.

Did you try a factory reset? Or better yet call Amazon maybe they can reflash the device. I would call and ask to talk to a Kindle specialist. Chat and email wont do in this case. You need to call them though or you wont get special treatment.

It is not bad like with some cheap tablets, just enough that I notice the difference between it and the 2013 hd.
I'm guessing the Overdrive app is fixed now as I had no problem downloading and installing and setting it up like some folks were having.
