Oh, man .... I would. I'd rather have Stephen Fry sit on the sofa and pet the kitties, while Eddie Izzard told us hysterical stories, and I put up the shelves.

That's my fantasy. It'll probably never happen, but wouldn't it be nice??

Attention, drivers of Texas .... stay to the right of the freaking double yellow line. The people on the other side are going in a direction opposite to your's and there is a good chance that there will be a problem if you decide that it's just fine and dandy to use their lane at 70 miles an hour.

Don't drive in Illinois, is all I have to say. They're even worse here. Having experienced both, I can say this with assurance.

I make it a point never to do that. If my truck ever thought it was headed to Illinois it would probably think it had been stolen.

Noticed earlier that I'm almost out of my favourite shampoo. Went online to order some more. And they've stopped doing it!! ARGH. More argh because I thought about getting some two weeks back and they still had it then, with no indication they were going to stop stocking it, but I didn't order it

witty, sparkling banter it is then.
I am woman hear me ROAR! Of course we can do anything on our own, we just choose to get someone else to do it! That shows who's the intelligent one in the relationship!

Sorry if this is going back a few posts but I've been at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (an amusement park) for the past 2 days. We decided to go unexpectedly and only my husband, Ryleigh and I went, so I asked the two college kids to please finish the laundry that I had started. When I got home I was fussing at Shannon for some reason and she said, "Hey! I was busy doing your job all weekend, give me a break!" Guess what she gets to do next weekend!

Sounds like my grandfather... Except he didn't make wine, he did woodwork. Mostly small stuff but he was also good with big stuff. My grandmother makes dollhouses, and my grandfather made most of the furniture

I even help him! I got him an electronic screwdriver for our 5th anniversary, an electronic drilling machine for his birthday and I never complain when he yet again buys an expensive toy (mostly of the Bosch brand, I think we've about everything now )

(naturally, I gave that screwdriver because I loved it too... Much easier than a normal one)

We've a nice split in chores at home too. He does about everything, and I do the vacuuming. He cooks, I bake (cakes, pies and everything else that is sweet )

But I do most of the painting, I've more patience and a steadier hand than he has. And our house needs a lot of paint...

i'll just go and sit away in the corner and rest my weary feet. a glass of the best malt and a large bar of chocolate will do very nicely. oh! if you can also bring me my reader, switch it on and select me a book to read, i would be most grateful.
oh, the fire, can you switch that on for me darlin', and bring me a nice warm blanket to put round me knees to keep the draft away.
an' i'll have a warming cuppa cocoa in about half an hour, to go with that bit of cake that's in the cupboard..........

You gals today with your "power tools" so you don't "need" a man. Ah the good ole days...

Ah.. I am sure you admit you prefer a man to do it than use your own power tools.

I generally prefer to hire out that type of work. But, my wife is budget sensitive. So, she wants to DIY things.

I recall the last project my wife did. It was time to rip up the old carpet in our family room. We wanted to put one of those floating hard wood floors in. I thought we could just hire one... of course, my wife said that is to expensive and if I helped here by the florring at Home Depot she and Derrick (my son) would do it.

Well... after them playing for about an hour or so and not even getting the first course put down, she asked me for "advice". I gave her some and went back to the TV or whatever. Another hour later she asked me for some more advice... she still hadn't made any progress. Well, long story short... about 5 hours later my son and I finished the whole floor and she was nowhere to be found.

So, while I can DIY stuff... I prefer to hire it out and do what I am good at, sitting at a PC and getting paid to do it.

So, I am here at my Mom's house in Rhode Island after a two day drive up the coast from Tampa I was up at 7AM today, not sure why. Guess I might as well spend some time on MR. (Was that a vent or a rant, not sure.)
