Just in case you're NOT

- I just updated to 4.0 and feel like you have pretty much perfectly achieved the stated objective of the rewrite for the viewer. I have tended to avoid using the book viewer in Calibre, but tested out 4.0 by opening a book and starting on it, and it's such a simple, uncluttered reading experience now that I can definitely seem me doing a lot more reading on it, especially of image-intensive ebooks. THANK YOU so much for this exceptional update.

Will the slowness in the Live File Preview in the Editor be fixed in the future? For every edit in the Editor, the text in the File Preview changes to using no stylesheet.css file to using the current stylesheet.css file. This behavior takes about two seconds for every edit.

I see this one in a while right after a section file first opens. Less than 2 sec on a really slow machine.
IMHO a tiny annoyance. I really can't do much on a new file in the first seconds

On first open with a large file/slow machine sure. On every edit, I dont see it.

kovidgoyal First of all congratulations on the new release, I wanted to make a comment I have friends who have large libraries of more than 10,000 books and they tell me that caliber becomes slow. There will be some way to adjust it. If you have already taken it into account I thank you from them.

This File Preview behavior does not occur in any of the previous versions. It only occurs in 4.0 with every edit, long after I open the file that I'm editing. My computer is less than two years old and is very fast with high-quality hardware parts. I uninstalled 4.0 and installed 3.48, and now, I have no problems. The books I edit are stored on a very fast 500GB SSD drive. I'll just wait and try to upgrade again in the future when more of the bugs have been fixed. Thanks.
