One more thing:
Quote:
To counter the convex "yawn", bring the affected part of plastic(PLASTIC!) into the envisioned, ideal position and apply lots of heat. Much more feasable, is to put, the EMPTY(no T1 inside!) case, open face down, in such a manner that the affected part(in this case, the "yawn") is forced into the opposite direction, on a radiator, over night. |

I plan to purchase a skin from Gelaskins next. My preferred skin provider - SkinIt, doesn't do the T1. |

I did have a problem with my T1 skin. I stretched it a bit in trying to reposition it during the initial application and it got a bump. I ordered a second skin & got it on no problem. I haven't had instances of peeling unless it's an area that I peeled back first to try to reposition. Do they feel different from each other? Is one better to apply if you have to reposition it while doing so without stretching? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks! |

I got the ipearl mCover in black too while getting impatient for my Gecko Luxe to arrive. For $7.99, it's a great alternative to $30++ covers. The fit is slightly loose and the top right corner holder is off to an angle. Otherwise, plenty of room for the stylus. The cover stays closed with an elastic band unlike the official Sony cover which flops open all the time.

Only had my new Sony Reader for two weeks and have been mulling cases all that time, not especially exited bit anything I saw. Least of all the prices
My solution for now was to order a hard case to protect my Reader while traveling. From Walmart I ordered, for $13, a PC Treasures 7.5inch PocketPro hardshell. It holds the T1 in a mesh pocket on one side of the case. The other size has a compartment that will hold a charger, usb cables, etc. It certainly looks capable of protecting the T1. The negative bit is that it is two inches thick, but then if you carry a charger there you are. Certainly not for everyone. But an option if you really just want to protect your T1 when you are not reading. Dana |

Are you happy with that? From the pictures it looks rather poorly made. ![]() |

Is the mCover case for Kindle Touch only available via Amazon?
I'm searching for the right case for my T1 and it looks like a contender. However, I really really prefer to see/touch it in person before buying. I checked out a few at Best Buy today. Was very surprised to find that the official Sony case with light is by far my fave. (This is why I would like to see before I buy.) Of the 4-5 I saw, the Sony case added the least bulk and, of course, fit perfectly. I don't like the price or the fact that the cover can open as it rides around in my bag. Anyone seen the mCover out and about? (Many thanks to those who posted pictures - so helpful!) |

I have happily ordered from SkinIt for my Apple devices, and really wish they would do the T1. The Decal Girl skins are noticeably thinner than the SkinIt skins. I may have stretched it in spite of my care, but I'm still not impressed. And the peeling up on the back skin is annoying. It started where I clip the book light, but now its on two other edges. Luckily, I can't see it anymore thanks to the mCover. |

So I ended up getting a case off of ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200717957762...84.m1497.l2649 I never planned to buy a case since it'd create extra weight, but shortly realized the need for one since it's so easy to get fingerprints on the back of the device. This is for Kindle Fire but it fits perfectly for the T1. It is firm and i like the elastic bands where I can attach my stylus. It does not cover the device on the edges, so if you are going for that then obviously don't get this one. Be warned that the one they ship to you isn't exactly the same. See my attachments. The bottom 2 straps are different from the top 2 straps, even though theyre all the same (elastic bands) in the ebay picture. I like it though, and I'm happy with the price I got it for. There was definitely no way I was going to waste >20 dollars on a case. Oh, and to all the people that think getting sleeves is a bad idea - I dont understand why you are judging so harshly. An ereader is the same as a phone, is the same as a laptop. Does everyone get laptop sleeves and phone cases? No. And not everyone has slippery fingers like you, who drop their ereader often. Even if you drop it, I'm pretty sure the device is manufactured to withstand arms length drops. And getting a sleeve is at least better than nothing at all. |

The problem with eBay sellers like that is that they get all their stuff from China & most of the bigger sellers don't even have it on hand, they dropship. That means zero quality control & that's how you end up with an item different than what was shown in the pictures. And it often takes longer because it's coming from overseas.
That's a major pet peeve of mine. If you advertise one thing then sell that thing not something similar - the exact thing you showed in your listing advertisement! |

I've been looking around for just the right cover for my T1 since January. I'm finding it hard to choose without seeing the different covers in real life to compare. After doing lots of reading and clicking around from this very helpful cover and case thread, I'm leaning toward Tuff-luv natural hemp book-style case. They look pretty sturdy from the pictures (I hope they actually are, and not just look that way). They're a bit pricier than what I'd originally planned on spending, but I like their look the best, so far. So I'm thinking of ordering a Pistachio one. Right!
