Trust me... You ain't seen nothin' yet. There's an exponential factor involved; the longer you're retired, the more things you find added to your day.
My wife just informed me that we will have no time to relax during our upcoming dive trip. We will be too busy trying to see and do everything that the island provides in the short time we will be on it!

I can finally feel my nose. Left for work with temps of 9 F (windchill of -3 F), office at work has leaky windows so froze all day (I was wearing 4 layers of clothes), drove home in a balmy 22 F and refroze my nose whilst hauling the trash cans from the curb.

Getting ready to go to Amsterdam. A lot earlier than planned, I initially wanted to take the the train around 10, mostly to avoid rush hour. But when I posted on Facebook I was going to Amsterdam today a former classmate contacted me and asked if I wanted to go for a drink with her before she had to go to work at 11, so we're meeting just after 9 at the trainstation.

I decided not to bring my camera with me. The Amsterdam Expo only allows small bags into the exhibition, I prefer not to leave my bag with my phone, wallet and Kobo at the cloakroom. Plus Amsterdam in winter is very grey and can be very grim. When I'm visiting in spring/summer I'll bring my camera with me and take pictures.

The Titanic exhibition was really nice. The Tutankhamen exhibition last year had reproductions of the excavated items, the Titanic exhibition had real items found at the bottom of the ocean.

Before I met up with a friend for drinks, it was really nice to see her again. It's a shame most of my former classmates do not only live all around the Netherlands but all around the world and meeting up is hard.

Afterwards I had lunch at my favourite lunchroom, which had a name change and a revamp. And then I did went to the Crocs store for a new pair of lined Crocs. I also visited the Waterstones, I was very tempted by the Sherlock edition of Cluedo.

I saw that the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) on the Dam has a Ming Dynasty exhibition until February 2 so I'll be visiting Amsterdam again soon.

I just booked a vacation for my sister and I. In March we're going back to the same holiday park we went to in November, I even managed to book the same apartment!

At least I brought good tea. The internet is sooo slow. Took 5 minutes to download 25 e-mails. I'm gonna go to bed and dream of the mermaids I'll see tomorrow.

My feet are very sore. It was very busy in the store today, especially this afternoon, 101 customers. Which means that I'm going to bed early tonight to watch some tv and read.

Went to TopGolf for the afternoon since it was my birthday. My first time going.

Managed to hit 90 yards from the third floor, which is not bad considering how weak my hands are these days. My dad managed to hit a ball, have it bounce back, and hit some lady.

Then went out to dinner, came back, was so stuffed that I just blew out the candles and skipped the cake.

Just woke up from a nap.

Only made 2 morning dives today. Then we rented motorbikes and went exploring the island. Abostivly beautiful! We hiked through a rubber plantation to a waterfall and went skinny-dipping... or chunky-dunking, as the case may be. Lovely, but no photos to protect the senses. Time now for a Thai-style beach BBQ!
