Oh! You are so right. I also DO keep Bentyl around, just in case--and @ownedbycats, if you don't have Bentyl (or the generic) it's the...well, the cat's meow, so to speak, for IBS. (It's been so long since I had a problematic attack, I actually forgot that I do have that and hell, you could be right, Peter, it could be that. Dang, I'm getting senile.)

I'm not an IBS sufferer but my wife is. So challenging trying to keep track of what I can and can't use when making meals

Today, my damn stomach hurts, in the upper stomach area. Doesn't feel like IBS at all. More like...it's just damned angry at me. Hitch |

1) Not eating late. 2) Avoiding eating foods containing fat AND sugar before bedtime. 3) Having a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with lemon juice in water before breakfast every single day. The last bit has been so effective that even if I occasionally do the first two *bad things*, I rarely have any issue. I talked my husband into the apple cider vinegar (eventually) and now he rarely has any issue either. He looks forward to it, to the point he makes darn sure we never run out of it! Now, here's how to make the apple cider vinegar bearable. Take a glass that contains 2 cups of liquid. Add the juice of a quarter lemon squeezed into the glass. Remove seeds! Add 2 cups water, (filtered if ya got it) Add 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar with the mother Add a pinch of Himalayan pink salt or other salt. (KEY INGREDIENT) You can also add a pinch of NoSalt (for potassium) Sweeten with 8-9 drops of liquid Stevia, or other sweetener you prefer. STIR! Drink through a straw to protect your teeth and rinse your mouth after consuming. Don't brush teeth for a half hour afterward. My concoction is more dilute than some but play it safe. You can also make lime/lemon infused water overnight in the fridge and substitute that for plain water as a way to make it taste better! |

Another month, another eye appointment
Just back from another followup post eye surgery. I went in feeling depressed in that I still can't see clearly from that eye, what I do see as a blur is not aligned with what I see in the left eye. I come home slightly cheered I'm that it seems the gas bubble injected to hold the retina in place has still not dissipated, and that dissipation can take two months! So next appointment is mid August (day before my birthday) so let's see how things are then. In the meantime back to just using the left contact lens, and my eye patch. I had a dentist appointment and was disappointed at first that my usual hygienist was not there. After the cleaning I met a different dentist. The hygienist was having a procedure and my dentist was on vacation. I would have liked to have known so I could reschedule. I had already rescheduled from June 23rd because I'd had Covid starting on June 7th.
The good thing was they the dentist did not find some work that could do on me, but she told me about an upper tooth being fractured and asked what I had eaten that was hard that I bit on? Her guessing was all wrong. No carrots or apples. No bagels. I don't think this is something new. I'd slightly chipped one tooth years ago when I was flossing. So I will have to be careful and eat on the other side. I told her I'd had an omelet the night before for dinner, which was true. I had yogurt for breakfast before I went there. Tuesday they called me and woke me up to ask me if I could possibly come in an hour earlier than my appointment time. I said that I could possibly but asked why and then I told them I would come in at the time I had scheduled. There is a reason I make afternoon appointments! |

If two occurrences in one week can count as a trend, then I've encountered a disturbing new trend:
I received two marketing emails from sites I may have legitimately visited. I would call them spam, but I honestly can't recall if there was opt-out I missed, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. So I use the provided "unsubscribe" links to get off the email lists...and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to unsubscribe. The forms seem to be specifically designed and worded to confuse and lead to the wrong choice, manipulating consent from people trying to opt out. Look at the attachments and tell me what I'm supposed to select to unsubscribe from everything. Last edited by ApK; 07-08-2022 at 05:17 PM. |

For the second time this summer that I’m aware, the local pool was cleared for what is technically labeled a fecal release but is popularly called poop in the pool.
