That's nothing. I got a cataract removed in 2020; sometimes the lens pouch gets clouded, due to an artificial lens being in there. That can be solved by a laser treatment of about 10 minutes.

I had the laser treatment at the beginning of Octoboer 2021. Yesterday I got the €250 bill. That is 9 months later. However: Yesterday I also bought an iPad to become my primary e-reader (because the battery of my 6 years old Aura ONE is dying).

If you don't have a lot of money, you could have been saving up for that iPad, buys it, and then suddenly gets a €250 bill that is completely unexpected. People can get in trouble that way.

For me, fortunately, it's not a problem, but it still annoys me to receive a bill for something that was done 9 months ago.

Makes me happy to be living in the Great White North where socialized medicine is the norm. I heard too many horror stories from the USA about people who are driven into debt and/or bankruptcy over medical bills.

For a while now when I open the store in the morning I find that some has let their dog pee on the wall right next to our door. Which is disgusting. So I have to get out the garden hose and cleaning supplies to get rid of the urine (don't want customer walking that inside!).

A couple of weeks ago I gave it an extra good clean and since then it hadn't happened again. Until this morning. This time not next to the door but right in front of it, luckily not against it, it was a huge, stinky puddle.

So my day started with cleaning supplies and garden hoses. I'm now considering getting one of the pet deterrent sprays. Although I'm not sure how well and how long that works when used outside. But I'm thoroughly fed up with this.

What about some sort of humorous (not) sign? Like...IDK, a sign like the one attached?

Seriously, Print it out, and put it near the door? Or something like it?

It's amazing how rude people can be with their dogs. We bought a new house and moved this past January. Evidently the people we bought the house from were jerks. They had two small terrier type dogs, and would walk them in the evenings, always starting their walk by crossing the street to the neighbor's mailbox, and letting the dogs pee on the post.

The mailbox for this house is right there by the end of the driveway, but the owners were just jerks. Our new neighbors on all sides have told us how thrilled they were when those jerks moved away and we moved in. No more loud vehicles, a Harley, souped up Mustang, and a race car of some kind that they would run in the driveway for hours. And of course the dogs.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a weird spot in my vision is a speck of dirt that got onto my glasses or the beginning of a migraine aura.

I'll give it a try, but signs that aren't screwed/glued down don't last long in the city center. We need to order some things from the pet store anyway, so we'll also get a bottle of pet deterrent.

Hmm. Did the neighbors ever consider electrifying the base of the mailbox, like an electric fence? As long as the post itself is wooden the letter carrier should be safe.

Ideally, you wouldn't be nicking beverages that I have purchased and placed in the community work fridge at all. But since that particular behavior is clearly not going to change, I would settle for you actually drinking the whole thing whenever you do do it. Rather than leaving it on the counter with a single sip taken from it and the cap put back on.

Rant: My ever-so-fussy GI tract suddenly deciding it doesn't like a food I had eaten before without issue. Of course, it then decides to violently evict everything else I had eaten in the last 24 hours.

Wow, that's weirdly coincidental. Mine is suddenly VERY cranky this morning, too--so much so that I cancelled going for some routine lab work this morning. Didn't want to risk leaving the house. What a DRAG.
