Some for sure. I bought my Mother a K2i on 6/30 for her birthday so hers could technically be returned today. She doesn't want to go without her reader for a month.

With folders, books are where me myself decided to put them. Not where the publisher decided

The publishers do not define what "collection" a book goes is entered in. You build your own collections and place books in the collections you want them in. You can even have books in multiple collections.

For example

I have To be read Sci Fi, Read Sci Fi, To be read Fantasy, Read Fantasy, and Reading.

I placed Robin Hobbs new Dragon Series in the To be read Fantasy. When I started the first book, I moved it to Reading and removed it from To be read Fantasy. When I finished reading it, I moved it to Read Fantasy and removed it from Reading.

There are many books that I have in multiple collections because I feel like they belong in two or three collections.

So be a really nice son and loan her your K2 and send her K2 back for a K3 and then you can have your K2 back when she has her K3.

Kindle collections are designated by the individual Kindle owner, not publishers.

I looked for the technical specs of a MiFi and couldn't find any. But, I'm guessing it is NOT an ad-hoc network... that it creates in infrastructre network just as any home WAP would create.

I say this because most laptops and other devices network adapters are set to connect to infrastructure networks. So, I doubt they want customers to go and have to change their adapters to run in ad-hoc mode.

A MiFi creates a standard wifi hotspot and gets it's net connection via 3G or Edge. No problem at all using such with a K3. In fact, I've had my iPhone 3G setup to be a hotspot via a demo of MyWi and it worked just fine with the laptop.

Possible actually (I can use my Opus). I'll have to call her tonight and see what she wants to do. Most of the new stuff won't mean much to her, but the faster page turns and better contrast might. I just checked my Amazon account and it looks like she has until 8/1 to decide.

And your laptop can't access ad hoc wifi networks?

After studying the Kindle 3 pictures the "Page turning buttons to flip pages" looks really narrow. I don't know if I would be comfortable with smaller buttons than than those on the Kindle 2. Why make them so narrow when there's obviously plenty of space left to make them wider?

Kindlefix works by changing to book's PID to match the Kindle's requirement (that's probably not entirely accurate though). This does not change the DRM, and the books still expire at the end of the circulation period.

Edit: Apparently this method no longer works with new firmware.

I'm guessing other hardware occupies that space. A switch (page turning buttons are switches) takes a lot of room as far as thickness. These small page turn buttons are probably a compromise to allow for the more narrow bezel.

The vast majority.
Ad hoc type is when you connect two laptops to transfer some files.
The vast majority of home users have WiFi router. That means "proper" WiFi network.
