I read Deveraux Montgomery series almost 15 years ago in paperback and in french . She's one of the reasons I love medieval fiction. But now I try to find medieval romances with more sensitive heroes.
Have you read any Samantha James? I have some of her medieval books and they are very good.

Edit TOC is a great way to make a Tablet of Contents! I love that feature which is Separate from Edit Book.
I use Edit Book now instead of my own editor. My changes are quite easy, and they are fast at this tool. So, I've changed from vim to this

The Edit Book as is now is what Kovid considers basic . I read in the Calibre forum they have plans to expand it. Like Calibre itself people will be able to use what features they want and ignore the ones they don't. It is something I want to at least try.

I know (mostly) what I'm doing with Unpack Book. I like to remove unwanted back and front matter which is easy with Unpack/tweak. It may turn out it as wasy to do with Edit, too. I haven't actually tried it at all.

Next book I get I will

Thanks for the wifi status bar app recommend, Blossom. I hope it will work on my Nook HD. I have a nice app on my Nexus desktop that allows me to 1 click wifi off and on, but that app doesn't work on my Nook.
The wifi app works on my Nook! Yay!

BTW I want to mention that while I did really love the beginning Dragon books by Aiken, I found #5 (The Dragon Who Loved Me) to be a bit tedious. It dragged and dragged, and was too long. But it did have a good ending. So I haven't read the next one, yet. The first two were the best.

I had to get the two Lisa Jackson books that are .99. They sound really good. Now when will I read them?

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh is today's Audible Daily Deal for $3.95. This is the first book in the Psy-Changeling series, which has gotten rave reviews from many here in our romance thread.

I personally haven't read this series (yet), but I have read her angels series and LOVE it. She's a great writer.

$1.99 Sale on Nancy Gideon's Prince of Shadows (Moonlight #8)
http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Shadows.../dp/B009K54NPE

Now if I could just remember WHY I needed to price watch this one, especially as it's #8 in a series. Maybe someone here was talking about this series in a previous month's thread?

Betrayed by Shadows (Moonlight #7) is also on for $1.99

I am not sure our tastes are quite the same, but I adore Kris Kennedy's medievals, especially Defiant and The Irish Warrior.

I also want to mention two medievals that haven't made it to digital yet (and please, please let them be someday!). One is Red Adam's Lady by Grace Ingram and the other is Bride of the Lion by Elizabeth Stuart. The first one is usually a minimum of $25 for a used copy, but the latter can be had for a reasonable price. If one can bear reading a paper copy it is well worth tracking them down.

I own Bride of the Lion and maybe read it I am not sure I remember it. It's been sooo long. I may have to skim through it and see if I remember it.

Are Kris Kennedy's historically accurate? If I read a medieval book I expect historical research to be have be done which is why I am leery to read anything that newly published and then there is the dialogue that was used then.

Loretta Chase actually updated her novels from Middle English to modern translation after receiving complaints luckily the ebooks I have are before the edit. Seriously why do that? Are the young people of today that uneducated they can't read and figure out the translation?!?

I am leery to buy anything indie that is medieval. I find indie authors never do their research properly mainly because they don't realize how much research goes into that time period.

Nevermind read the sample and the writing is horrible!

Exactly I find it too basic when I can use my own tools to quickly find what I need changing. I was never a fan of Sigil either though.

There are a lot of backlist titles you can checkout. I'm to the point where I'm staying away from indies. It use to be you could find some great fresh books Coleen Hoover, S.C Stephens and of course Kristen Ashley. Now everyone wants to find the next big thing and people devour stories from indie authors who can't write and well if you read a lot of crappy writing you eventually become more tolerant of it and think your reading something good when really it's just awful compare to the old stuff. This is why it's so important to go back and read the old books and see how strong the English language once was compare to the big indie sellers of today.
