If my earlier posts before were long and confusing, let me try to say it again simply: I suggest we keep this thread that we're using now for general discussion.

Apart from that, we use kindlekitten's "what you've read" for our lists.

I am fine with whatever, but I do feel the four threads right now are too much (and we should get a consensus asap and start using the appropriate threads so as not deter any more people).

I don't mean to be presumptuous as I am newer here, but in the interest of helping and getting this settled, I think I will start a quick poll in the next hour over how we should proceed unless any objections arise.

It will only last for a day, and include every option I can think of that has been proposed, and whichever has the most votes at close of poll will be what we use, simple as that. If there is a tie, I will create a run-off tiebreaker poll, and if that ties, then whichever voter has the closest to first post in this thread will be the tie-breaker. Quick, simple and will settle the matter so we can effectively get over this hump and start enjoying our books!

If anyone wants to list any options they can think of in case I might miss it before I post the poll, please do so!

Again, sorry to be presumptuous but I want this confusion and debate to be settled so everyone can enjoy the group.

The Moderators are already mulling over how we should handle our group. I don't think any further voting is appropriate until they tell us what they would prefer us to do.

Oh, OK, I wasn't aware. That is good to know. Then their decision will be it.

But from what I'd gathered from other posts, the mods may or may not give us our own subforum, but if they don't, do they care which threads we use and how we use them (of the four here and the ones in the group forum) and will they appoint specific threads for us to use? Because that is what most everyone seems to be debating here, and that is what I was going to start the poll for, to settle the debate.

Why don't we just make a goodreads group MR 100 books in 2011? Then we can have as many sections and posts as we want. We can have individual threads and a what are you reading threads/just finished threads, and a lounge...

It's an interesting idea, but I've never been to goodreads. We may lose some of the group jumping to another place.

It seems like the mods are (hopefully) close to a decision, and it may involve a subforum for us. I think if the decision comes soon we should at least wait and see what we've got here to work with, and I think their decision will end debate and get us started with enjoyable discussion.
