I'm always amazed how my skin clears up when house sitting for longer than a week.
I've always had problem skin; oily T-zone and lots of spots and in the last couple of years often dry areas on my cheekbones. I've tried a lot of products and although they help it's usually for a couple of months at most. The last 6 months or so my skin got even worse so I got a Clarisonic, which did wonders when my skin adjusted to it after a couple of weeks and when I found the right products for my "new" skin. A lot less oily and no more dry areas. I've now been house sitting for friends for over a week and as usual my skin is clearing up, even more than before thanks to the Clarisonic. The reason why it clears up so well is probably because I'm not in my mother's cigarette smoke most of the day. She's got a very bad habit and although she reduced the number of cigarettes over the last couple of months it's still affecting my skin (and hair). I wish she would just stop, also because she's got chronic bronchitis, but the more we ask her to stop the more she digs her heels in and won't. I've got eight or nine days to enjoy my behaving skin before my friends return and I'm going back to the smoke infested house. |

I'm helping Mrs Bilbo pack for our holiday. Mostly in the way that men do; you know, wandering past and saying something like, "Have you remembered my pants?".
![]() We're flying to Las Vegas tomorrow, spending three nights there and then flying to Vancouver for five nights. After that, it's six nights on the road through the Rockies before flying home from Calgary. Really looking forward to it ![]() Second night in Vegas will be our 20th wedding anniversary, so we're planning on a nice meal out. Currently looking like Aquaknox in the Venetian, but if anybody has any recommendations, I'm all ears. |

If Star Trek the Experience is still running, go there. It's worth the price of admission just to stand on the bridge of the Enterprise D.

I have a vague recollection of something you might want to do there. It's slowly coming back to me. Oh, yes. Ride the roller coaster thingie on top of the really tall building and be sure to look down. No, wait. Don't do that. No, don't do that.

What am I doing right now?
A pastime I'm rather fond of, actually, colloquially known as "breathing". While some may find it slightly repetitive, it is often reported to be rather soothing by those who apply themselves to relishing the nuances of the activity. I highly recommend it. |
